Victims swept away by floodwaters found in Duc Nhan commune

According to information from Duc Nhan Commune Police, at around 12:45 p.m. today, July 17, after 2 days of searching, the authorities found the body of the victim who was swept away by floodwaters on the afternoon of July 15 and handed it over to the family for burial according to local customs.

Previously, as reported, at around 5:40 p.m. on July 15, on her way home from work, Ms. Xa Thi Tin (born in 1984), residing in Chum Nua hamlet, Duc Nhan commune, was swept away by floodwaters while crossing a stream.

After receiving the news, the local authorities mobilized local forces including 20 police officers, soldiers and militiamen along with local people, and machinery to support the search for the victim. However, due to high water levels, strong currents, and complex terrain, the authorities encountered many difficulties in the search. After many efforts, at 12:45 p.m. today, July 17, the search force found the victim's body about 10km from the accident site towards the Suoi Nhap Hydropower Plant.

Authorities mobilized motor vehicles to assist in searching for victims swept away by flood waters.
