Finding outlets for startup products

ĐNO - That is the topic that many businesses, investment funds, experts... are interested in and discussed at the meeting and connection between the People's Committee of Da Nang City and the startup community organized by the Center for Supporting Innovative Startups (Department of Science and Technology) on the afternoon of August 12.

The program creates a space for direct and open connection between the government and the city's startup community. At the same time, it creates an opportunity for the city government to listen to the startup community's sharing and propose solutions in finding outlets for startup products; propose solutions to promote the development of the city's innovative startup ecosystem.

This activity demonstrates the strong commitment of the city government in accompanying, supporting and creating a favorable environment for the city's innovative start-up activities to develop more and more sustainably.

At the meeting, representatives of the city's innovative startup ecosystems including incubators, investment funds, universities, colleges, and startups shared difficulties and problems as well as proposed many solutions to promote the development of businesses and the startup ecosystem.

Many proposals such as supporting administrative procedures; piloting mechanisms for applying new technologies in the city; promoting the “triple helix” cooperation model between the State - enterprises - institutes and schools; building and expanding the network of angel investors and investment fund alliances; forming an “idea platform” to connect the needs of large corporations and enterprises with solutions from startups; arranging regular display space for innovative startup products...

According to the Department of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology is currently drafting a Government decree regulating a number of articles of the Law on Science, Technology and Innovation.

This Decree will clearly stipulate the tasks of innovation, science and technology; the role of innovation centers, creative startup support centers; at the same time, standardize the entire system of concepts related to creative startups, innovation... creating a unified legal corridor.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu emphasized that the city always pays attention to the field of startups and innovation. At the same time, he requested the Department of Science and Technology to direct the Center for Startup and Innovation Support to pay attention, monitor and promptly commend, reward and support projects and startups; and promote communication work.

The City Center for Supporting Innovative Startups and Innovations needs to coordinate with corporations and state agencies to issue at least a few “problems” for orders each month, have a mechanism to protect ideas and select suitable businesses. This will be an important output, linking the value of specific solutions to market needs.

Along with that, it is necessary to clearly identify practical problems, group businesses according to capacity, protect ideas, promote product improvement and bring solutions to the market, thereby contributing to building a dynamic and sustainable innovative startup ecosystem for Da Nang.
