Prize money of the 32 teams participating in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™.
With a convincing 3-0 victory over Champions League champions PSG in the final on July 16, Chelsea officially became the champion. The championship brought the London team a bonus of up to 114.6 million USD .
The win over PSG alone earned Chelsea $40 million . This cash flow is an extremely valuable addition to the Stamford Bridge club, especially after spending more than $200 million on new players in the summer transfer window.
However, what is most noticeable is the huge financial disparity between the teams. The amount of money Chelsea received 25 times higher compared to what Auckland City earns.
The tiny team from New Zealand only got 4.6 million USD . Their record was not very good, losing 0-10 to Bayern Munich and 0-6 to Benfica. However, they had a brave match, holding Boca Juniors to a 1-1 draw. The result helped Auckland add $1 million to their prize money.
While the sum may seem modest compared to the big boys, it represents a huge financial boost for the semi-professional side. The prize money is estimated to be seven times Auckland’s 2024 revenue ( $488,000 ). If spent wisely, it could cement their dominance of the domestic leagues for years to come.
Other big teams also did not return empty-handed. Runner-up PSG received 106.9 million USD Meanwhile, Man City also earned 51.7 million USD despite being eliminated from the round of 16.
The prize structure is divided based on two factors: participation fee and performance-based bonuses. Just for participating, top clubs such as Chelsea, PSG, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Man City are guaranteed to receive at least 25 million USD .
PSG suffered a crushing defeat to Chelsea in the Club World Cup final. Early morning on July 14, PSG lost to Chelsea 0-3 in the match to decide the Club World Cup title.
