During the months of confinement, monks and nuns not only receive training and develop their Buddhist studies, increase their merits, virtues, and moral strength, but also have the opportunity to practice communal life in the spirit of the six harmonies, have the opportunity to exchange and share their insights and experiences in practice; at the same time, demonstrate brotherhood and harmony. The tradition of confinement has been preserved by monks and nuns since the time of the Buddha until today as the core for studying and maintaining the inner strength of the Dharma. This is also a characteristic activity of Buddhism.
