Tien Giang: Women's Union and movement work achieve many outstanding results

(ABO) In the first 6 months of the year, in the context of many changes in administration and socio-economic situation, the Women's Union of Tien Giang province still achieved many outstanding and comprehensive results in all areas of the Union's work and women's movement, actively contributing to the local development and improving the material and spiritual life of its members and women.

Tien Giang Provincial Women's Union launched the implementation of the theme 2025.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the Women's Union at all levels in the province had many outstanding activities in performing its functions, tasks and movements. The Union directed the movement to focus on the grassroots, especially in remote and isolated areas. In particular, it promoted the application of information technology in directing and organizing the implementation of emulation movements, campaigns, and breakthroughs in the key tasks of the Union.

The highlight in the first months of 2025 is that the provincial Women's Union at all levels has actively participated in activities organized by the Central Women's Union; organized activities to celebrate the 1985th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising and the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2025), attracting thousands of cadres, members, and women to respond with many practical and meaningful activities.

The Provincial Women's Union at all levels also carried out well the Tet care activities associated with the implementation of the program "Millions of gifts to share love" and prepared well the conditions to serve the cadres, members, and women to enjoy spring, celebrate Tet healthily, safely, and economically. From the capital source of the Fund to Support Women's Economic Development, the Provincial Women's Union donated 20 computers and 11 printers to the Union's bases with a total cost of over 330 million VND. This is a project of the Provincial Women's Union to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025 - 2030 term.

Implementing the program "Loving Tet - Spring At Ty" in 2025, the Provincial Women's Union at all levels presented 2,000 gifts to support women in difficult circumstances with a total cost of 800 million VND; awarded scholarships to 6 orphans sponsored by the Provincial Women's Union for a period of 5 years and by the age of 18, each child receives an average of 500,000 VND and necessities each month; presented 10 gifts to women with disabilities; implemented a "0 VND booth" to present 100 gifts to women in difficult circumstances to celebrate spring and Tet.

To practically celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh , the Provincial Women's Union organized the planting of 500 star apple trees and provided materials and fertilizers for planting trees on the road in Tang Hoa commune, Go Cong Dong district; presented 50 compost bins to 50 households of members and women in Tang Hoa commune to implement the model "Waste treatment at households - Composting with compost bins".

Promoting the implementation of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, integrating into the activities of agencies, Executive Committee meetings, regular meetings of branches/groups, clubs, groups, and teams, the Provincial Women's Union at all levels has organized the implementation of the thematic content for 2025. Many activities were organized by the Union at all levels in conjunction with the work of educating the traditions for cadres, members, and women; models of practicing following Uncle Ho's example such as: "Women's group worshiping Uncle Ho's photo", "Women's group saving and following Uncle Ho", "Saving and raising piggy banks", "Charity rice jar", "Exchanging plastic waste for gifts", "Exchanging plastic waste for trees"... were maintained and saved 2,163 billion VND, helping 572 disadvantaged women; mobilizing 6.5 tons of rice, 2,800 charity meals to help women and people in difficult circumstances.

The provincial Women's Union at all levels implemented the Campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's", "5 yes's, 3 clean's"; provided guidance on the collection, classification and treatment of solid waste at source; promoted and mobilized women to participate effectively in purchasing health insurance and voluntary social insurance with 2,754 cards, amounting to 2.34 billion VND. In addition, it focused on preventing, detecting, supporting and participating in resolving cases of domestic violence and abuse of women and children; ensuring that cases related to abuse of women and children, if detected by the Union, will be promptly supported and helped to access at least one social assistance service.

Commendation of advanced women in the period 2020 - 2025.

Implementing the Project "Supporting Women to Start a Business" (Project 939), the Provincial Women's Union at all levels has organized training activities to improve the capacity of members and women on policies related to start-ups; rural markets, displaying booths of women's start-up products; seminars, forums, talks on start-ups, training on writing business ideas, and starting a business in 2025. Coordinated with relevant sectors to organize consulting and job introduction for 308 female workers; introduced 609 women to work as workers in industrial parks in and outside the province.

The program "Millions of gifts to share love" has supported 2,785 gifts including cash, necessities worth 1.1 billion VND; 8,547 charity meals worth 101 million VND to help poor and near-poor women, families with difficult policies, the elderly, the lonely, and the sick. The program "Godmother" has given 593 orphans cash, clothes, and school supplies worth 335.3 million VND; 110 milk portions worth 22 million VND; launched 2 models "Godfather - connecting love" in Go Cong City and Cho Gao District with 20 members. Coordinated with the Social Policy Bank to disburse 122.651 billion VND to 5,284 households; the capital source of the Provincial Women's Economic Development Support Fund disbursed nearly 105 billion VND to 5,281 members.

Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Tien Giang province Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong suggested that in the coming time, the Women's Union at all levels of the province continue to promote its role, propagate the policies of the Party and the State, enhance the understanding of the thoughts of members and women; propagate to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels. In particular, in the context that the whole country is implementing the policy of arranging and merging the state apparatus in a streamlined, flexible and effective direction, it requires the Union at all levels to continue to promote its role, create consensus, stabilize the organization of the apparatus soon, ensure that the work is carried out on schedule, with quality and many outstanding activities.
