Billionaire Nguyen Dang Quang only holds 18 Masan shares, daughter appears for the first time

Ms. Nguyen Yen Linh - daughter of billionaire Nguyen Dang Quang - has just registered to buy 10 million MSN shares. If the transaction is successful, this will be the first time the daughter of Masan's chairman holds shares in her father's corporation.

On October 24, Ms. Nguyen Yen Linh - daughter of Masan (MSN) Chairman of the Board of Directors Nguyen Dang Quang - sent a notice to the Securities Commission about registering to buy 10 million MSN shares.

The transaction will take place from October 29 to November 18, by order matching or negotiation. Regarding the reason for the transaction, Ms. Linh said it was to increase the ownership ratio at MSN.

At the end of the session on October 24, MSN's market price was VND78,500/share. It is estimated that at this price, billionaire Nguyen Dang Quang's daughter will have to spend more than VND785 billion to buy the registered number of shares.

Ms. Linh said that she currently does not own any shares in MSN. If the transaction is successful, Ms. Linh will increase her holding ratio from 0% to 0.66% of the total outstanding shares of her father's corporation.

According to reports, billionaire Nguyen Dang Quang personally owns 18 MSN shares.

Ms. Nguyen Hoang Yen - Ms. Linh's mother and also a member of Masan's board of directors - owns more than 50 million MSN shares, equivalent to 3.36%, equivalent to VND 3,900 billion.

If the transaction is successful, Ms. Linh and her daughter will own a total of 4.02% of Masan's capital.

Meanwhile, Masan's 6-month 2024 management report said that Mr. Stephen Truong - Ms. Linh's husband - does not hold any shares of MSN.

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Linh - Ms. Yen's sister, also only holds 223 shares. Another son of Mr. Quang, Nguyen Dang Linh, also does not hold any shares in his father's corporation.

Although he only directly owns a very small number of MSN shares, Mr. Quang indirectly holds 31.19% of MSN capital through Masan Corporation.

Masan Group recorded VND21,500 billion in net revenue in the third quarter of 2024 and more than VND1,300 billion in consolidated net profit after tax, up 7% and nearly 169% respectively over the same period last year.
