Ho Ho Hydropower Plant spills over, many reservoirs increase flow to regulate

(Baohatinh.vn) - Faced with heavy rain, Ho Ho Hydropower Plant and many reservoirs in Ha Tinh have proactively released spillways to regulate water.

From June 12 to the morning of June 13, due to the influence of storm No. 1, Ha Tinh area had moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain with common rainfall of 57 - 143 mm. In Ky Anh district and Ky Anh town alone, the measured rainfall was 194 mm and 239.6 mm, respectively.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Tuan - Deputy Director of Ho Ho Hydropower Plant said: Due to the forecast of heavy rain, the unit has proactively implemented the regulation of water through the spillway from 5:00 p.m. on June 12 with a flow rate of 50 m3 /second.

At 8:00 a.m. on June 13, it was still raining in the factory area, the water flow into the factory's reservoir was about 120 m3 /second, the water flow to generate electricity from the 2 generators was 32 m3 /second, the water level upstream was 69.19 m, the water level downstream was 22.6 m.

“The total rainfall in the factory area from 1am to 8am on June 13 was 26.01mm. The factory is currently spilling water at a flow rate of 10m3 /s. The unit continues to monitor and closely follow weather developments to proactively regulate water appropriately, ensuring the safety of the project and downstream areas,” Mr. Nguyen Ba Tuan informed.

Some more reservoirs in Ha Tinh have been put into operation to regulate water through spillways.

With heavy rain forecast from June 11 to 13 in Ha Tinh, Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited - the unit assigned to manage and operate 38 irrigation reservoirs in the province, has also proactively discharged water from some reservoirs such as Tau Voi Lake, Khe Xai Lake, Da Han Lake, Da Cat Lake, Van Vo Lake, etc.

Due to heavy rain from the afternoon of June 12 to the morning of June 13, this unit continued to operate and regulate the overflow of several reservoirs.

The current water flow regulation through the spillways of the lakes is Tau Voi Lake 10 m3 /second, Moc Huong Lake 38.76 m3 /second, Da Cat Lake 33.01 m3 /second, Khe Xai Lake 5 m3 /second, Kim Son Lake 5 m3 /second, Da Han Lake 8 m3 /second...

At the same time, some small-capacity, free-flowing reservoirs have been operating such as: Ma Leng Lake, Dap Hoi Lake, Nha Lao Lake, Khe Dai Lake, Dap Ho Lake, Con Troi Lake...
