President To Lam asked Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army Trinh Van Quyet, together with leaders in the Central Military Commission and the General Department of Politics, to be proactive, sensitive, and grasp the situation in all aspects to advise the Party and State to lead the successful implementation of military and defense tasks; build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and gradually modern Vietnam People's Army, creating a solid foundation, striving to build a modern Army by 2030; worthy of the trust and responsibility assigned by the Party, State, and people.
In addition, the President also requested Mr. Trinh Van Quyet and the leaders of the General Department of Politics to actively take care of building truly clean and strong Party committees, Party organizations, and the People's Army, associated with building strong, comprehensive units that are "exemplary and typical". Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet was born on January 22, 1966; hometown: Thanh Quang commune, Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province; professional qualification: Bachelor of Party Building and State Administration.
Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet worked for many years in Military Region 2 and held the positions of Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Region, Political Commissar of the Military Region, and Secretary of the Military Region Party Committee.
At the 13th National Congress of the Party, he was elected as a member of the 13th Party Central Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
In April 2021, he was appointed Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
He was promoted to Major General in 2016, Lieutenant General in 2020 and Senior Lieutenant General in 2023.
