Tears of gratitude and happiness
Phay Khat Campaign, Dien Bien Phu Campaign, Route 9 - Southern Laos Campaign, Ho Chi Minh Campaign... each historical moment, the hardships and sacrifices of our ancestors appeared right before our eyes, Ms. Thu Huong (living in Bac Ninh) seemed to relive the heroic atmosphere of each battle.
In the middle of the red-lit room, Ms. Huong did not leave the screen, but tears rolled down her cheeks without her realizing it.

Then burst into tears at the moment the flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam fluttered on the roof of the Independence Palace - the country was unified, in the music "We walk in the light of thousands of bright yellow stars, the flags fluttering, bustling and passionate footsteps rushing here. Oh Saigon, so confident for so many years. A happy day of liberation".
"I am proud to live in a peaceful country, forever grateful to the heroes and martyrs who fought for independence and freedom for the nation, forever grateful to Uncle Ho," Ms. Huong was moved.
As for Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien (living in Quang Ninh), these campaigns are all in history lessons, but this is the first time she has had access to such valuable documentary images.
"It's only now, when watching these films, that I realize how brutal the war was to achieve the independence and freedom we have today."
Ms. Hien hopes that these valuable documents will be included in history classes so that the younger generation can see and feel what the Vietnamese people have gone through, and deeply understand the history of our Vietnam.

'I am proud of my country's achievements'
As the generation that felt the pain of war most clearly, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Sy (72 years old, living in Thanh Oai, Hanoi) was moved to tears when watching the film footage about the nation's journey of "Independence - Freedom - Happiness" at the Exhibition of 80 years of national achievements.
He himself participated in the resistance war against the US in 1971, belonging to Company 12, Battalion 16, Truong Son 559 Corps. When he heard about the exhibition, he and his wife took a bus at 4am to visit the exhibition on time.

Today, after many years, he witnessed again the historic campaign he himself participated in more than 50 years ago.
Recalling the war, the soldier said: "I was born in the countryside, the life of our people at that time was difficult and arduous. In 1971, I volunteered to join the army, arrived in Quang Tri in 1972 and then followed the Ho Chi Minh campaign to the South. On Liberation Day, I and my comrades were present at Saigon Bridge.
I feel so moved, honored and proud to have contributed a small part to the cause of national liberation.
At that time, I thought that going to the battlefield meant sacrifice, not living to return to my homeland and see my homeland and country develop as it is today.
Today, the old soldier spent the whole day going to each exhibition area, admiring the achievements of the country after 80 years of its founding. The old soldier could not help but be moved, choked up, and proud of the wise leadership of the Party and State.
