Notice of flood discharge of Ba Thuoc 1 hydropower reservoir

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Hoang Anh Thanh Hoa Hydropower Joint Stock Company will discharge floodwater from Ba Thuoc 1 Hydropower Reservoir from 10:00 p.m. on July 12 and is expected to end at 3:00 p.m. on July 18, 2025.

According to the announcement of Hoang Anh Thanh Hoa Hydropower Joint Stock Company, on the Ma River, water is flowing into Ba Thuoc 1 Hydropower Reservoir with a flow of 606 ^m3 /s; the discharge flow downstream of Trung Son Hydropower Plant and the rainfall of the basin from Trung Son to Ba Thuoc 1, so the forecast flow to Ba Thuoc 1 Reservoir is from 750 m3 ^/ s to 1,200 ^m3 /s.

Hoang Anh Thanh Hoa Hydropower Joint Stock Company will discharge floodwater from Ba Thuoc 1 Hydropower Reservoir from 10:00 p.m. on July 12, 2025 and is expected to end at 3:00 p.m. on July 18, 2025.

Overflow flow: 50 m ³ /s to 500 m ³ /s (depending on water flow to the lake).

The flow through the unit is 700 ^m3 /s.

Total downstream water flow is expected to range from 750 ^m3 /s to 1,200 ^m3 /s.

After this announcement, the Plant will periodically issue flood forecast bulletins about the reservoir every 3 hours according to the regulations in the Inter-reservoir Procedure on the Ma River and the Operation Procedure of Ba Thuoc 1 Reservoir.

The flood discharge command is given by three whistle blasts, each lasting 20 seconds and spaced 10 seconds apart.

Hoang Anh Thanh Hoa Hydropower Joint Stock Company requests the People's Committees of Thiet Ong, Ba Thuoc, Dien Lu, and Quy Luong communes to notify the people and villages along the Ma River to have a plan to proactively protect people, property, trees, crops, cattle, fish, livestock, seafood, houses and structures.

People absolutely must not travel, collect firewood, fish... in dangerous areas with high risk of landslides and strong currents.

Hoang Anh Thanh Hoa Hydropower Joint Stock Company is not responsible for compensating for damages if households, individuals, organizations, communes, wards and districts do not take preventive measures to protect people and property according to this notice.
