Establish an emergency customs clearance mechanism for some key items

On the afternoon of June 13, Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee Doan Thanh Son and Vice Chairman of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) Liao Pinhu held an online meeting to discuss promoting customs clearance of fruits during peak periods.

In the spirit of cooperation and construction, the leaders of the two sides agreed on many important contents. Specifically, the two sides will direct the competent authorities to synchronously implement measures to facilitate the import and export of goods during peak periods. This will especially prioritize agricultural products, fresh fruits and items in the key industrial supply chain.

The two sides also agreed to promote the reopening, upgrading and promoting customs clearance efficiency at traditional border gates and customs clearance routes.

In particular, the two leaders agreed to establish an emergency customs clearance mechanism for a number of key goods. A specialized working group will be appointed to immediately implement this content.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that Lang Son always creates the most favorable conditions for trading activities, especially fruits and agricultural products. These are the products that the province always prioritizes for quick customs clearance.

Therefore, Mr. Doan Thanh Son suggested that the two sides soon complete the procedures to submit to the two governments for approval to upgrade the Chi Ma - Ai Diem bilateral border gate pair to an international border gate. At the same time, soon sign the minutes to officially open the Binh Nghi - Binh Nhi Quan bilateral border gate pair.

Lang Son also proposed that Guangxi promote import and export activities and increase working hours at the Coc Nam - Lung Nghiu customs clearance; consider restoring customs clearance of goods at the secondary border gates; and coordinate to improve customs clearance efficiency through Dong Dang - Bang Tuong International Railway Station.

Mr. Liao Pinhu, Vice Chairman of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, highly appreciated the efforts of both sides. He suggested that Lang Son province continue to share information to promptly handle difficulties for businesses.

Mr. Lieu Pham Ho also requested Lang Son to speed up the construction progress and expand the specialized freight transport route at the Huu Nghi - Huu Nghi Quan and Tan Thanh - Po Chai international border gates. Along with that, speed up the expansion of the Xuan Cuong Bus Station project and promote the function of the smart cargo yard at Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park.
