Domestic gold market on June 22 kept stable price

(GLO)- Gold prices were quite stable over the weekend. On the morning of June 22, according to records from some reputable domestic businesses, the prices of gold bars and gold rings remained at the same level as yesterday.

Specifically, gold bars at some businesses such as SJC, PNJ, Bao Tin Minh Chau, Mi Hong all listed the selling price at 119.7 million VND/tael. On the buying side, Mi Hong listed the price at 118.7 million VND (a difference of 1 million VND), Phu Quy listed the price at 117 million VND (a difference of 2.7 million VND), DOJI and PNJ both listed 117.7 million VND (a difference of 2 million VND)...

For gold rings, businesses also listed many prices but generally not higher than 117.2 million VND for selling. Of which, SJC listed at 113.7-116.2 million VND/tael; DOJI listed 114.5-116.5 million VND/tael; PNJ listed 113.7-116.5 million VND/tael, Bao Tin Minh Chau listed at 114.5-117.5 million VND/tael; Phu Quy 113.5-116.5 million VND/tael.

The world gold price today is listed around 3,367-3,369 USD/ounce (equivalent to 107.1 million VND/tael converted according to Vietcombank exchange rate, excluding taxes and fees) - down 0.13% compared to the previous trading session.

Thus, world gold price is about 12.6 million VND/tael lower than domestic gold price.

Gold remains in a long-term uptrend, reasserting its position as a key currency asset in global markets, according to Christopher Vecchio, Head of Futures & Forex at Tastylive. Speculative positioning suggests some short-term challenges for the metal.

Fawad Razaqzada, market analyst at City Index and Forex, said that while weakness is creeping into the gold market, it is not the time to short the metal.
