This is the content provided by Mr. Nguyen Quang Hieu - Director of External Relations of De Heus Vietnam Co., Ltd. at the National Halal Conference held on October 22 in Hanoi .

PV: Can you tell us the reason why De Heus participated in the National Halal Conference and the expectations of businesses when attending this Conference ?

Mr. Nguyen Quang Hieu: De Heus Co., Ltd. operates in the livestock sector, especially poultry farming. Currently, our production chain includes meat, eggs and milk products. Through information research on media and social networks, we know that the market in Muslim countries is very potential with more than 2 billion consumers. We also know that the Vietnamese Government is interested in this market. Therefore, we attended the conference to learn more information, potential partners and Government policies to develop a product chain development plan for the future.

Thị trường Halal không quá khó nhưng rất khắt khe về yếu tố văn hóa, tôn giáo và tâm linh
De Heus strives to cooperate in developing Halal product chains.

According to you, what are the difficulties that Vietnamese businesses will encounter when accessing the markets of Halal countries?

In my personal opinion, with what the company has learned about the Halal market, I see that this is a very potential market. However, this is also a new market for our company as well as Vietnam in general. Through research, we see that this market is not too difficult but very strict due to the requirements for product quality as well as cultural, religious and spiritual factors. Halal standards are also very different between countries, some countries even do not recognize the standards of other countries. Therefore, in order to be able to export to diverse markets, the biggest difficulty will be to fully and comprehensively grasp the standards and certifications suitable for each region and Muslim country.

What suggestions do you have for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in Halal countries to enhance the access of De Heus products to these markets?

In my opinion, the role of state agencies such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in Halal countries is very important. First of all, we hope that the agencies will provide information on the market needs of Muslim countries. In fact, we have researched but the information is still limited. Second, it is necessary to strengthen negotiations on trade agreements, especially factors related to technology and products to support businesses. Finally and most importantly, in my opinion, the Government needs to have a mechanism to support the provision of information and solutions to serve Vietnamese businesses and the needs of partner countries.

Thank you!
