If in the past, poor quality imported toys of unknown origin flooded the market, causing many people to worry, this year, the trend of prioritizing domestically produced toys and traditional toys is becoming more evident. Grasping this taste, many distribution units have focused on importing domestically produced toys, stamped with CR quality certification (Vietnam quality standards). Some toy brands produced by domestic enterprises such as Sinh Thanh An, Sau Con, Dai Viet Toys, Duc Thanh Wood, Lien Hiep Thanh, Hung Phat, Nguyen Bao Ngan, Veesano, Cho Lon Plastic... have been known and trusted by parents to buy for their children. On this occasion, sales units have also implemented many incentive programs, applying a discount policy of 10-30% for children's toys; gift wrapping, greeting cards, free home delivery to create surprises, multiplying joy and love for children.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Trang on Hang Dong Street (Nam Dinh City) has a daughter who is entering first grade this year, so she often goes to Fahasa bookstore (Go!) supermarket to choose products that are both fun and educational, such as: Drawing and coloring toy sets or Vietnamese language recognition toy sets to help her child improve her aesthetic ability, recognize letters and practice memorization. Each product is mostly domestically produced, with prices ranging from a few tens of thousands to about 500 thousand VND, depending on the product. Ms. Trang said: "The toy products are made of paper and wood, so they are quite safe. In addition, I also prioritize toys that focus on developing intelligence, skills and entertainment for my child in the summer."

At Rong Market (Nam Dinh City), where there are many wholesale and retail toy dealers, most of the toys are domestically produced with many designs, models, and eye-catching colors, not inferior to imported goods. In addition to plastic toys such as plastic cars of all kinds, toys that help develop thinking, electronic toys: remote control cars, superheroes, etc., traditional toys made from simple materials such as bamboo sticks, glue, papier-mâché or cellophane are very environmentally friendly and have funny shapes with colors suitable for children, and are also chosen by many parents. At a toy store on Tran Hung Dao Street, many parents choose to buy for their children because of the variety of products, health safety and high quality. The products sold at the store all have invoices and documents proving their origin and are tested for safety, not harmful to children's health. In addition to selling stuffed animals and toys for children, during the summer, the store also sellseducational and entertainment toys that parents often buy. Each toy product costs from 50 to over 1 million VND depending on the product and material. An employee at the store said: “If in the past, Chinese battery-operated electronic toys with remote controls were always the preferred choice of customers, now there has been a change. Customers who come to buy often carefully check the origin and source and choose toys made in Vietnam. Intellectual toys, puzzles, assembly toys, educational toys, reflex skill toys, push-pull - movement toys, toys with sounds, smart toys... produced domestically have higher prices than imported goods but are still preferred by people.”

In addition to domestically produced toys chosen by parents and children, the province also has craft villages specializing in producing traditional toys such as Bao Dap village, Hong Quang commune (Nam Truc). The craft of making star lanterns in Bao Dap village has existed since 1950-1960 and has continued to develop to this day. At that time, paper flowers, nylon flowers, and star lanterns from the village were present at markets in the northern provinces and cities. Because the craft appeared early, up to now, most villagers, from the elderly to children, can grasp the steps to complete a star lantern of different sizes. After many years of stagnation, the traditional toy associated with many generations of Vietnamese people is now popular again. Household products started making after Tet, but now they are sold out as soon as they are made. Even though traders have paid in advance, the villagers still have no products to sell. Unlike other products, star lanterns of Bao Dap village are made entirely by hand. Currently, lanterns of Bao Dap village are available in all regions of the country to serve children to celebrate the full moon. On average, each person in Bao Dap village can make 150-200 lanterns a day, after deducting expenses, they can earn from 50-100 million VND per month, creating jobs and stable income for many rural workers, contributing to the preservation and development of traditional crafts.

In addition to the positive development of domestic toys, there is still a large number of poor quality products of unknown origin on the market, especially violent toys that are not safe for children. This is a worrying issue that needs to be strictly controlled. In recent times, market management forces have increased inspection, market control and product quality inspection, especially children's toys. Along with that, functional forces have promoted propaganda and dissemination of laws through the mass media on the trading of goods and children's toys that ensure safety, quality, and clear origin; warning consumers about the harmful effects of using violent children's toys, which negatively affect children's psychology.

It can be seen that the children's toy market is shifting positively towards prioritizing quality, promoting education and safety. "Made in Vietnam" toys are gradually regaining their position with improved designs, safety, and rich cultural values, helping children learn and play in a useful way during the summer. This is also an opportunity for domestic enterprises to continue investing and innovating to expand market share and enhance competitiveness right at home.
