Mixed with the sound of the rollers and gravel spreaders, there was the cheerful laughter of hundreds of engineers and workers working here. The construction atmosphere was busy and cheerful despite the drizzling rain.
“Working through the night and holidays is tiring, but we are very happy to be able to contribute our efforts so that the national key project can be completed by the end of this year, helping people, especially those in the Mekong Delta region, to travel and trade conveniently,” said worker Le Van Sang (from Nghe An ), in charge of the loading category.

The spirit of "overcoming the sun and rain" and determination to complete the project on schedule was spread by the investor of the Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway Construction Investment Project to the remaining packages of the project in Ca Mau.
Meeting us at the construction site on the morning of September 1, Mr. Huu Quy (a road roller driver, participating in the construction of the IC12 intersection to Ong Huong bridge, part of the XL3 contract, Ho Thi Ky commune, Ca Mau province) said: “This morning, I was assigned to construct the service road. Because trucks continuously transport construction materials to the construction site, this area has sunk. Therefore, when the trucks dump rocks, I am responsible for compacting and flattening the ground so that the trucks carrying materials can move more conveniently, ensuring that the construction continues throughout.”
In charge of supervising the construction of the IC12 intersection section to Ong Huong bridge, engineer Phan Thanh Thuan said that up to now, the Ong Huong bridge section has been paved with asphalt, some areas have completed the gravel layer, and other remaining areas are being paved with stone...
“The weather is erratic this season. To ensure the progress and quality of the project, we take advantage of the dry weather to work continuously, regardless of day or night, holidays or Tet,” engineer Thuan shared.
On September 1, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Duc, General Director of Southern Power Corporation visited the 110kV Ho Tram station (HCMC), the medium and low voltage project (Dong Nai) and the 110kV Tri An - Thanh Phu transmission line phase division project to visit and give gifts to workers who were working during the holiday in difficult weather conditions.
Mr. Tran Van Thi, Director of My Thuan Project Management Board (investor of Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway), said that during the National Day holiday on September 2, the project's contractors deployed a total of 139 construction sites with 2,449 personnel and 1,239 machines and equipment of all kinds throughout the construction.
The goal is for this expressway to be completed on December 19, 2025. The project's progress to date has reached about 75% of its output. Currently, the main construction items include unloading, curbing, compacting crushed stone and asphalt concrete; and construction of the traffic safety system.
In Dong Thap, the joint venture of contractors constructing the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Project also mobilized over 400 workers, engineers, hundreds of specialized technical equipment, and organized about 40 construction teams across the festival.
A representative of the Dong Thap Province Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board said that after a long period of slow construction due to lack of construction materials and insufficient land, these difficulties have now been basically resolved.
Taking advantage of the dry weather, contractors are working hard, mobilizing all human resources to complete the project, ensuring the project is completed on schedule and with quality. By the end of August 2025, the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Component 1 Project had completed 44.66% of the construction value.
The Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Civil and Industrial Works of Dong Thap Province will strengthen inspection and supervision, strictly and seriously ensure the construction quality of the joint venture of contractors, and actively support units to remove difficulties and obstacles to speed up the progress of the project.
