Impressive achievements of coach Kim Sang-sik

Coach Kim Sang-sik had an impressive record when he first led U23 Vietnam, at the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 tournament that just took place in Indonesia.

Coach Kim Sang-sik has the second biggest title with Vietnamese football.

In his first time in charge of the U23 Vietnam team, the Korean strategist had a record of winning all 4 matches in the U23 Southeast Asian tournament, conceding only 2 goals and scoring 8 goals. In the opening match, U23 Vietnam defeated U23 Laos 3-0, and in the second match of the group stage, the "Golden Star Warriors" defeated Cambodia 2-1.

In the semi-final against U23 Philippines, U23 Vietnam came from behind to win 2-1 despite being behind. In the final, U23 Vietnam defeated Indonesia 1-0 in the match at Bung Karno Stadium.

Overall, despite leading U23 Vietnam for a short time, coach Kim Sang-sik maintained a winning record in official matches, demonstrating a balance between attack and defense.

This is also the second major title the Korean strategist has won since signing a contract with the VFF, after winning the Southeast Asian National Team Championship earlier this year. Previously, in the journey to win the ASEAN Cup 2024, Coach Kim Sang-sik also had an impressive achievement when helping the Vietnamese team win the championship with an unbeaten record.

The only goal helped U23 Vietnam win the Southeast Asian Championship. On the evening of July 29, the U23 Vietnam team defeated Indonesia 1-0 in the final of the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship held at Bung Karno Stadium.
