Excellent comeback to defeat Philippines, U23 Vietnam wins the right to enter the final
After the match with U23 Philippines, coach Kim Sang Sik said: “U23 Vietnam played well. The players tried very hard, I want to thank them. I am happy that U23 Vietnam won the right to enter the final.”
“It is true that we missed many scoring opportunities, but the whole team followed the right tactics, the players performed exactly as we had prepared before the semi-final match,” added coach Kim Sang Sik.

The fact that the U23 Vietnam team only scored two goals in the semi-final match against the U23 Philippines was a bit too little compared to the number of opportunities we had. However, the most important thing is that coach Kim Sang Sik's team still achieved enough results to be present in the championship match.
Vietnam U23's opponent in the final match on July 29 will be the winner of the second semi-final match of the tournament, between Thailand U23 and Indonesia U23.
These are two very strong teams. In particular, U23 Indonesia is also the home team. However, coach Kim Sang Sik hardly cares about that.

The Korean coach shared: “I will watch the semi-final match between Indonesia and Thailand, through which I will have an assessment of them. We need to be ready for the final. It will be difficult to meet any of the two teams above, the important thing is that U23 Vietnam must rest well and prepare well.”
“The very positive thing is that the U23 Vietnam players are confident. If we are well prepared, we can defeat all opponents in the final match to win the U23 Southeast Asian championship,” coach Kim Sang Sik confidently affirmed.
After winning the semi-final, U23 Vietnam has won all 3 matches of this year's tournament. We scored a total of 7 goals and conceded 2 goals, before playing the final match.
Another concern for U23 Vietnam after the semi-final match with U23 Philippines is a number of injuries. Coach Kim Sang Sik said the players need time to recover. The ability of each position to play is still uncertain.
