On the evening of June 16 at Thong Nhat Stadium, Vietnam's U19 women's team faced Indonesia's U19 women's team in the second semi-final of the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Women's Championship. This match took place on a wet field due to persistent rain from the first semi-final.
The weather made the pitch slippery and created some difficulties for coach Okiyama Masahiko's players even though they were playing at home. It was not until the 10th minute that Ta Thi Hong Minh took a beautiful free kick in the style of "falling yellow leaves", sending the ball into the far corner of the goal to break the deadlock.
The team spirit was lifted by the opening goal and the Vietnam U19 women's team played even better. In the 37th minute, Luu Hoang Van doubled the gap with a skillful move in a tight space and a delicate shot from the middle.
In the second half, the home team maintained their attacking style. The Indonesian U19 women were helpless against the speedy, technical play of the Vietnamese U19 women. In the 47th minute, Thanh Hieu assisted Truong Thi Hoai Trinh to raise the score to 3-0.
Immediately after that, Luu Hoang Van finished comfortably to increase the score to 4-0 and quickly determined the match situation in the 53rd minute.
During the remaining time, the Indonesian goal continued to be in a state of turmoil.
In the end, the score of 4-0 was maintained, U19 women of Vietnam entered the final match. Before that, U19 women of Thailand spoke up early in the first semi-final match and U19 women of Vietnam responded to make an appointment in the final match taking place on June 18, at 6:30 p.m. at Thong Nhat Stadium. The two losing teams in the semi-finals, U19 women of Indonesia and Myanmar, will meet in the third place match at 3 p.m. the same day.
