Of which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 2.6% and 8.4%; electricity production and distribution increased by 4.2% and 4.3%; water supply, waste and wastewater treatment were equivalent to the previous month and increased by 8.1%; the mining industry decreased by 0.6% and 0.7%.
It is estimated that in the first 7 months of 2025, the industrial production index increased by 6.2% over the same period last year, of which the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 6.4%; electricity production and distribution increased by 4.6%; water supply, waste and wastewater treatment increased by 6.9%; and the mining industry decreased by 4.9%.
In the first 7 months of 2025, most processing and manufacturing industries achieved a fairly high growth rate compared to the same period, such as: Motor vehicle production increased by 15.2%; production of non-metallic mineral products increased by 14.6%; production of leather and leather products increased by 10.9%; metal production increased by 9.6%; garment production increased by 9.5%; production of chemicals and chemical products increased by 9.2%; production of drugs, pharmaceutical chemicals and medicinal materials increased by 8.4%.
In addition, 3/23 manufacturing industries had IIP index decrease compared to the same period, including electrical equipment production down 1.9%; paper and paper products production down 1.5%; bed, wardrobe, table and chair production down 0.1%.
The number of workers working in industrial enterprises is estimated to increase by 0.2% by the end of July 2025 compared to the end of the previous month and equivalent to the same period last year.
In general, in the first 7 months of 2025, the labor utilization index of industrial enterprises is equivalent to the same period in 2024. Of which, the labor force working in foreign-invested enterprises increased by 2.2%; the state sector decreased by 1%; the non-state sector decreased by 3.1%.
By economic sector, the number of workers in the processing and manufacturing industry, electricity and gas production and distribution industry is equivalent to the same period in 2024; the water supply and waste and wastewater treatment industry increased by 2.6%; the mining industry decreased by 22.5%.
