Quang Binh is one of the localities strongly affected by climate change and natural disasters, especially storms, floods, droughts, saltwater intrusion... These challenges require proactive, synchronous, systematic and long-term strategic response solutions.
At the workshop, the Department of Agriculture and Environment announced and consulted with relevant parties on the results of the report on the task of developing and updating the climate change response plan of Quang Binh province for the period 2025-2030, with a vision to 2050.
This is one of the important tasks in the context of increasingly complex climate change, deeply affecting the socio -economic life, environment and sustainable development of the locality.
Representatives of the Center for Climate Change Adaptation and Carbon Neutrality, under the Department of Climate Change, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and consulting experts presented papers with the following contents: Impacts of climate change and viewpoints and orientations in responding to climate change in the province in the period of 2025-2030, with a vision to 2050; solutions for sectors, fields, priority project portfolios and roadmap for implementing the updated action plan to respond to climate change in Quang Binh province in the period of 2025-2030, with a vision to 2050; nature-based adaptation approaches and integration in climate change response planning and related development plans; gender integration in climate change response planning and local disaster management plans.
The development and updating of climate change response plans aims to update the latest climate change scenarios under the direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment; assess the level of vulnerability and risks caused by climate; propose effective adaptation solutions suitable to the natural and socio-economic conditions of the province; integrate adaptation goals into the planning and socio-economic development plans of the province.
Thereby, demonstrating Quang Binh province's strong commitment to implementing national and international commitments on climate change, including the Paris Agreement and the commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
