According to Decision No. 484/QD-TTg dated June 7, 2024 of the Prime Minister , the 2025 Census will collect information for 30 days, from July 1 to July 30, 2025. Preliminary results will be announced in December 2025. Official results will be announced in March 2026. Thematic analysis reports will be published in July 2026.
Mr. Tran Ho Binh Tuy, Deputy Head of the Can Tho City Statistics Office, said: The 2025 Census is one of the most important censuses of the Statistics sector, conducted periodically every 10 years. The results of the 2025 Census serve the compilation of relevant statistical indicators belonging to the national statistical indicator system; compile socio -economic indicators to serve the assessment of the current situation, analysis of change trends, development of plans and strategies for rural development, agriculture, forestry and fisheries (AFF) and improvement of rural living standards nationwide as well as in each locality. Serve research to assess the scale and structure of rural labor and AFF; changes in rural infrastructure; the implementation of some contents of national programs and targets in the rural and AFF sectors; serve international comparisons of rural and AFF indicators. Build a database on rural areas and NLTS to serve in-depth research; serve as a sampling frame for a number of annual periodic surveys on the NLTS sector and meet other statistical requirements.
The 2025 Census has many new features. That is, more information is collected and the coverage is more complete. Changes in the design and implementation method of household list forms help collect complete information and save costs. Connecting information of farm and household forms helps improve information quality and exploit multidimensional information for analysis and report compilation. At the same time, maximizing the exploitation of existing administrative data and survey data to minimize field collection. Ready for launch day
To prepare for the 2025 National Population Census to be implemented as planned, Can Tho City has established the 2025 National Population Census Steering Committee, a standing team to assist the Steering Committees at all levels; issued a specific implementation plan for the 2025 National Population Census, assigned tasks to each member and built a roadmap to implement the work to ensure the set progress. Strengthened the Steering Committee and standing team according to the actual situation of the localities. By June 5, 2025, the work of collecting information on household lists in both urban and rural areas throughout the city had been completed.

With a high determination to well implement and ensure the progress of the 2025 Census in the city, contributing to the overall success of the Census nationwide, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc He, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee, requested the City Statistics Office to preside over and proactively coordinate with the forces in the Steering Committees at all levels to provide timely guidance and support throughout the implementation of the 2025 Census, ensuring that the survey is correct, sufficient, and meets the quality requirements of the Central Census plan. At the same time, it is necessary to update the instructions related to the reorganization of the commune level, preparing for the new apparatus to officially operate from July 1, 2025. * The 2025 Census will collect three groups of information: the current status of agricultural, forestry and fishery production; the current status of rural areas; and information on rural residents.
* The subjects of the investigation include: workers participating in NLTS activities; households participating in NLTS activities; farms, enterprises, cooperatives participating in NLTS activities; Commune People's Committees.
* The 2025 Census will simultaneously implement two methods of information collection: direct interviews (using electronic survey forms - CAPI and paper survey forms) and indirect information collection (using electronic survey forms - Webform) from survey units.
