To date, Thai Binh province has planted over 20,000 hectares of winter crops, of which warm-season crops such as corn, melons, squash, etc. have been basically completed. Currently, local farmers are focusing on planting cold-season crops such as potatoes and various vegetables.

To restore production affected by storm No. 3 and flooding, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1543/QD-UBND dated September 20, 2024 on supporting the development of winter crop production in 2024, striving for the winter crop production area in 2024 - 2025 to reach 40,000 hectares.
To ensure the plan, localities need to focus on directing and advising farmers to speed up the progress of sowing winter crops, expanding the area of planting cold-loving winter crops such as potatoes, kohlrabi, cabbage, and leafy vegetables; taking care of and preventing pests and diseases for the areas of winter crops that have been planted. Applying care and intensive farming measures in the direction of safe production, good agricultural practices (VietGAP); quickly harvesting the areas of vegetables that are ready to be harvested to improve productivity, quality and product value.
