At the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) 2025 ceremony held in Thailand at the end of June, TH Group - the owner of the TH true MILK brand - was one of two businesses honored in the "Circular Economy Leadership" category.

TH's circular economy strategy has remarkable depth.

This is a category that requires businesses to be pioneers and comprehensive in implementing the circular economic model, not only in the internal production chain but also positively impacting the community and society, bringing specific results that have been proven through practice and experience over many years of sustainable development.

According to TH Group, the "Circular Economy Leader" award is a recognition of TH's pioneering efforts and comprehensive initiatives in a closed circular economic model, harmonizing economic and environmental development, for a sustainable future for Vietnam and the region.

A representative of the jury of the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards 2025 shared: "What impressed us most about TH Group's sustainable development strategy is how they fully integrate this strategy into the overall business picture, proving for many years that economic success can go hand in hand with environmental and social responsibility.

TH's circular economic strategy has outstanding depth, especially in advanced technology elements and smart localization according to actual conditions in Vietnam - that is what creates the breakthrough."

Breakthrough initiatives help TH "score points"

Through the detailed report and the "Green Regeneration from Farm to Factory" system sent to the organizers, TH Group has clearly affirmed its sustainable development philosophy: "cherishing Mother Nature" is the foundation that guides all business activities.

Since its establishment in 2009, TH Group has been steadfast in its integrated value chain model "from farm to table", and since 2016 has transformed this model towards circularity - regeneration, emission reduction and value enhancement.

The world's largest closed, high-tech concentrated dairy farming and processing cluster - TH's dairy farm in Nghe An is a place where synchronous and continuous solutions converge: from recycling livestock waste, reusing water, converting energy, to resource regeneration and community education.

Specifically, the waste treatment system at the farm helps recycle more than 28,000 tons of livestock waste each year into Greenma organic fertilizer, through advanced aerobic composting technology imported from the US. This organic pellet fertilizer is used to fertilize TH's pastures and crops and distributed to local farmers - closing the cycle of soil - grass - cows - manure - soil.

In addition, TH invests heavily in renewable energy: producing more than 8,300 MWh of solar power per year, cutting over 6,000 tons of CO₂. Boilers use biomass fuel (rice husk, sugarcane bagasse) instead of diesel, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 85%. 100% of wastewater from farms and factories is treated to Class A standards and reused internally (irrigation, cooling barns), helping to save water resources and protect the local ecosystem.

Another unique initiative is the collection of used milk cartons at TH true mart stores. By the end of 2023, nearly 2 tons of milk cartons had been recycled into construction materials, used by TH to build schools for poor students - both reducing waste and creating humane values for the community.

In April 2025, two key production companies of TH Group, including TH Milk Joint Stock Company and Nui Tien Pure Water Company Limited, were certified as carbon neutral according to PAS 2060:2014 standards. These are the first two companies in Vietnam to be assessed and confirmed by Control Union - an independent and prestigious international certification organization.

A school in Thanh Hoa was built with about 50% of its building materials recycled from recycled plastic.

The highlight of the circular economy initiative at TH is the strategic and methodical implementation. A corporate-level sustainable development committee was established to monitor and coordinate the implementation of the circular model, integrating waste recycling, energy saving, and CO₂ reduction indicators into KPIs to evaluate the performance of each member unit. The entire staff has been extensively trained in circular economy, and sustainable development thinking has become a core part of corporate culture.

But above all, the soul of this initiative is the vision and steadfast leadership of Labor Hero Thai Huong - Founder and Chairman of the TH Group's Strategy Council.

She is not only the initiator of the inspirational "from pasture to glass of milk" model, but also the chief architect of a circular ecosystem imbued with the identity of "cherishing mother nature".

Previously, on June 13, Global Brands Magazine (UK) awarded her the title "Global Outstanding Sustainability Leader 2025", a worthy recognition for a leader who is always steadfast in the path of harmonious development between economy, environment and society.

The Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) is an annual award founded by Enterprise Asia, with the aim of recognizing outstanding businesses in implementing social responsibility, promoting sustainable development and creating added value for society.

In 2025, AREA, themed "A Necessary Shift to a Regenerative Economy", attracted applications from more than 19 countries in the Asian region.

The awards are selected through a rigorous evaluation process by an international panel of experts, based on criteria of innovation and creativity; effective and sustainable impact on environmental resources, energy, and waste; ability to spread and replicate within the organization and community; and feasibility and transparency in implementing methods and measuring results.
