This is the second specific cooperation activity between Da Nang and Qualcomm after the direct visit and survey of Ms. An Chen, Senior Vice President of Engineering of Qualcomm Corporation, in Da Nang city on January 11, 2024.
The delegation informed Qualcomm Group that the city is developing two specific policy resolutions to attract overseas Vietnamese intellectuals in the field of microchips and semiconductors to transfer knowledge and technology to relevant parties of Da Nang city and a policy resolution to support training participants and students in the field of semiconductor chips and microchips in Da Nang city.
The city has established the Da Nang Center for Research and Training in Microchip Design and Artificial Intelligence (DSAC) since the beginning of 2024 to prepare resources to welcome and work with businesses and investors to promote the development of these fields in the city.
In addition, the infrastructure at Software Park No. 2 is being completed and put into use so that businesses and organizations can set up headquarters here.
The alliance of universities including: University of Science and Technology, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communications Technology, Danang University of Technical Education (Danang University); Duy Tan University and FPT University Danang was established to enhance cooperation in training human resources in microchip design and artificial intelligence (AI) locally.
Through discussions, Qualcomm Group said it is very interested in researching investment in Da Nang. Da Nang City committed to providing maximum support and expressed its desire to cooperate with Qualcomm Academy to implement a number of short-term training courses associated with Qualcomm certificates for human resources in Da Nang.
The two sides also agreed to cooperate in organizing solutions and competitions to find talents, and innovation challenges in the field of microchip design... in the coming time.
