The seven situations in the Vietnamese Family Warmth program are seven different stories, but they all have one thing in common: they have all turned a new page thanks to the hearts of sharing. In addition to the awards at the recording session, Hoa Sen Group has realized the dream of a healthy home for seven families by sponsoring nearly 200 million VND for roofing, walling, and toilet construction...

New home, old dreams and dad's unfulfilled promise

Pham Bao Ngoc, 10 years old (episode 130), is the youngest of three siblings in a family that has just experienced a great loss. In September 2024, Ngoc's father died of liver cancer, just 20 days after being diagnosed. Since then, her family's life has been cut in half.

When talking about her father and family, Bao Ngoc always cries.

When talking about her father and family, Bao Ngoc always cries.

Her father used to be the main laborer, doing whatever he was hired to do. Her mother, Phan Thi Bich Thuy, spent every day weaving chicken coops to earn a living, earning only 5,000 VND each. Ngoc rarely talks about her pain, but when she is alone, she still thinks about her father and the electric bike he promised to buy her. That dream had not yet come true when her father left her.

The house where Ngoc's family lives has seriously degraded. Now Hoa Sen Group has installed corrugated iron roofs, walls and purlins.

The house where Ngoc's family lives has seriously degraded. Now Hoa Sen Group has installed corrugated iron roofs, walls and rafters.

Knowing that Ngoc’s family’s house could not provide shelter from the sun or rain, Hoa Sen Group donated all the corrugated iron and purlins and directly supported the family in repairing the roof. Now, the three Ngoc brothers can study in a small corner and sleep soundly without worrying about waking up in the middle of the night rain.

For Ngoc, the new house is not only a place to live, but also a place to keep her father's unfinished promise, a support for her to continue her dreams, to continue to believe that as long as she tries, happiness will smile again.

Not only Ngoc, 6 other family circumstances at the recording of Vietnamese Family Home in Can Tho City, including: Phan Van Thien, Nguyen Trong Huu (episode 133); Lam Thi Cam Nhung (episode 131); Tran Thi Tuyet Nhan (episode 136); Ho Chi Tai (episode 135); Phan Thi Hong Ni (episode 137) also received timely support from Hoa Sen Group.

They used to live in houses with thin walls and leaky roofs. Just a little rain would make the whole family run away to avoid the leak. Some children lived with sick relatives and huddled under the rickety roof every night, hoping it wouldn’t rain.

The replacement of the roof, the rebuilding of the walls and the reinforcement of the purlins were nothing less than a life-saving gift. The works, though simple, contained the faith and hope that the children could grow up under a truly proper roof.

A small toilet, a great shelter for Hong Ni

Pham Thi Hong Ni, 13 years old (episode 137) is a girl who matures faster than her age due to loss and adversity. Having never known her father, and having just recovered from the pain of losing her mother to drowning, Ni and her younger sister now live with their elderly grandfather, who still works hard every day selling lottery tickets to take care of his two young grandchildren.

The temporary house of the three grandparents did not even have a toilet. Every time they needed to bathe or go to the toilet, Ni and her sister had to run to the neighbor's house. To others, this was a small thing. But to a teenage girl, not having a private place was sometimes more painful than hunger. Ni understood that, but never complained. She just silently gave in, sharing each portion of rice and each notebook with her younger sister, as she once said: "If only one of us could go to school, I would give it to her, because she is younger."

Deeply sympathizing with her situation, Hoa Sen Group sponsored the construction of a new toilet for the family. A small project, but a big turning point in Hong Ni's life, where she can maintain the privacy of a growing girl. This also partly shares the burden that her grandfather is struggling to bear every day.

Thus, the new roofs, from corrugated iron sheets, purlins to toilets, are no longer simply material support. They are shelters in life, gifts of human love given in difficult times. Thanks to these gifts, the children have a dry place to study, a warm resting place, protected from the rain and sun, and more importantly, a proper home to grow up in safety and peace.

And perhaps, the most valuable thing is not only the intact roof, but also the feeling that the children are no longer alone. Hopefully, with this timely companionship, the lives of the children and their families will be somewhat less difficult.

The program Vietnamese Family Home is broadcast at 8:20 p.m. every Friday on HTV7 channel. The program is produced by Bee Media Company in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Television, with the support of Hoa Sen Home Construction Materials & Interior Supermarket System (Hoa Sen Group) and Hoa Sen Plastic Pipe - Source of Happiness.
