President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Quoc Tuan and President of the CFA Song Kai represented the two federations to sign the agreement, marking an important step forward in promoting comprehensive cooperation between the two football foundations.
According to the content of the Memorandum of Understanding, the two Federations will strengthen coordination in key areas such as: exchanging coaches, referees, technical experts; coordinating the organization of friendly matches, training for men's, women's, youth and futsal teams.
At the same time, create conditions for football teams to participate in festivals and international friendly tournaments; promote cooperation between V.League and Chinese Super League, between national futsal tournaments; and share experiences in management and operation of professional football systems and facilities.
Assessing this very meaningful event, President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Quoc Tuan believes that the memorandum of understanding between the Vietnam Football Federation and the Chinese Football Federation will not only contribute to improving the professional and operational capacity of both football regions, but also open up practical opportunities for the development of youth football, women's football and futsal - priority areas of the Vietnam Football Federation in the coming period.
VFF highly appreciates the companionship and practical support of CFA in recent times, especially in training and friendly matches of national teams before participating in official international tournaments.
For his part, CFA President Song Kai also emphasized the strategic significance of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two federations, affirming that this event is not only an important milestone in the field of professional football cooperation between the two countries, but also contributes to deepening and expanding the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam.
The two sides will continue to carry out practical cooperation, learn from each other and jointly improve the overall level of Asian football on the basis of this memorandum of understanding.
In order to realize the cooperation content, in the coming time, CFA will organize a number of specific events and activities. It is expected that in January 2026, CFA will organize an international women's football tournament to prepare for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup finals and invite the Vietnamese women's team to participate.
Along with that, in preparation for the 33rd SEA Games and the 2026 U23 Asian finals, the Vietnam U22 team is expected to participate in the U22 international tournament organized by CFA next November.
The two Federations also agreed to promote a referee exchange program, through which referees from each country will have the opportunity to officiate at professional tournaments in the other country to improve their management capacity and professional experience.
In addition, with modern facilities and well-organized work, CFA affirms its readiness to welcome Vietnamese teams and clubs to train and compete in friendly matches in China.
Notably, the two sides also agreed to strengthen coordination and mutual support in international football forums, contributing to strengthening the continent's position and common voice.
Immediately after the signing ceremony, the VFF and CFA held a seminar on football development, with the participation of leaders of the two federations and leaders of CFA's specialized departments including: national team, women's football, youth football, referees, competition organization and technique.
The Vietnamese side presented an overview of the team development strategy, human resource training, tournament organization and management.
The two sides also discussed in detail action programs, agreeing to gradually and effectively implement cooperation content in a practical and flexible spirit.
Over the past time, the VFF and CFA have maintained an active connection through many practical activities. Notably, the Vietnamese teams have continuously participated in tournaments and training sessions in China. In particular, the Vietnam U22 team participated in the CFA Team China 2024 and 2025; the Vietnam U16 team participated in the international youth tournament in Inner Mongolia; the Vietnam women's futsal team played friendly matches and participated in the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship in Hohhot;...
The Memorandum of Understanding between the VFF and CFA is valid for 3 years, automatically extended for 2 more years if there are no changes, thereby creating a strategic cooperation framework, contributing to improving professional quality and strengthening the connection between Vietnamese and Chinese football in the context of strong integration of regional and continental football.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Vietnam Football Federation and the Chinese Football Federation not only opens a new era of cooperation but also marks an important step in the journey to elevate Vietnamese football on the map of Asia and the world .
