Strengthening cooperation in digital transformation between Vietnam and Cuba

Vietnam and Cuba agreed to strengthen cooperation programs to improve digital transformation capacity and apply digital platforms to train skills for people and businesses.

On November 2, during the working visit to Vietnam of the President of the Cuban National Assembly, Cuban Minister of Communications Mayra Arevich Marin and Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung had a working session to promote cooperation programs between the two countries in the field of Information and Communications.

At the meeting, the two Ministers acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of the implementation of cooperation agreements between the two sides, especially in organizing training programs on information security, telecommunications management, frequencies, IT applications and e-Government implementation. These programs will be further promoted by the two Ministries in the coming time.

Cuban Minister of Communications Mayra Arevich Marin and Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung discussed policies on promoting digital transformation, experience in organizing training, improving digital skills and implementing digital transformation projects at the grassroots level. Cuba is focusing on promoting the role of the Youth Union and young IT engineers to guide and support people in digital transformation. Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung shared Vietnam's experience in deploying community digital technology teams to each village to support people. The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation programs to improve digital transformation capacity and apply digital platforms to train skills for people and businesses.

Regarding investment cooperation, the two Ministers agreed to support businesses from both sides to contact and explore the possibility of cooperation in implementing ICT projects, especially in the newly established High-Tech Parks of Cuba.
