Strengthening the work of preventing drowning for children

(LĐ online) - On June 11, the Lam Dong Department of Health urgently directed the Lam Dong Provincial Center for Disease Control and the Medical Centers of districts and cities to strengthen the work of preventing and combating drowning in children.

Lam Dong Department of Health requested units to strengthen the implementation of the Program on preventing accidents and injuries and preventing drowning for children, building a safe community. Specifically: Strengthen propaganda work so that people have measures to strictly manage children during the summer vacation; when working in areas with ponds, lakes, rivers, streams, do not bring children along; implement fences on ponds and reservoirs belonging to households, to prevent drowning of children. Provide guidance on first aid for drowning and means and equipment for first aid for drowning at swimming pools. Coordinate with the Departmentof Education to guide and improve the capacity of management staff, teachers, and school health workers on preventing accidents and injuries, and first aid for drowning.

Lam Dong Provincial Center for Disease Control regularly urges, inspects and supervises the implementation of drowning prevention work of units; promptly advises the Department of Health to deploy child drowning prevention work according to the functions and tasks of the sector.
