Tan Chau: Promoting the construction and development of culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable development

Implementing Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW on "Building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development", in recent times, the Standing Committee of Tan Chau District Party Committee has focused on thoroughly grasping and widely implementing it throughout the entire political system.

Thereby, raising awareness and responsibility of cadres, party members and people about the central role of culture and people in the cause of national development.

The district synchronously implemented policies and resolutions on culture; branches and grassroots party committees developed action programs and specific plans. The whole district had 52/52 branches and grassroots party committees that thoroughly informed 98.98% of party members; organized more than 1,500 propaganda sessions with tens of thousands of people, union members and association members attending.

At the same time, propaganda work through the radio system and loudspeaker clusters in 12/12 communes and towns is regularly deployed, with a total broadcast time of nearly 1,000 minutes.

The Standing Committee of the District Party Committee directed all levels and sectors to promoteeducation on ethics, lifestyle, life skills, patriotism, and national pride. The Education sector actively implemented models such as “Learning Family”, “Learning Clan”… to promote a learning society.

The sports movement has developed strongly, associated with major campaigns such as "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", "Olympic running day for the health of all people"... with the rate of people regularly exercising reaching 33%; the number of sports households reaching 28%.

The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" is focused on. By the end of 2024, the whole district will have 91.03% of families achieving cultural titles; 100% of hamlets and neighborhoods will be cultural; 95% of religious and belief establishments will be civilized.

The work of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values has been effectively implemented through festivals, competitions, art performances, and the preservation of musical instruments and folk dances. These activities contribute to improving the spiritual life of the people and creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere in building new rural areas.

In addition, the district focuses on ideological education and the fight against wrong views for cadres and party members; widely deploys annual topics on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle in conjunction with Resolution 4 of the Central Committee (term XII, XIII) and the conclusions of the Politburo.

In particular, propaganda and the fight against wrong views in the cultural and ideological fields have been promoted; the district has organized political activities, propaganda on sea and islands, border demarcation and marker planting, contributing to creating social consensus and consolidating the great national unity bloc.

From 2021-2024, the district's investment budget for education and training will reach more than 1,139 billion VND. The work of universalizing education, student streaming, and teaching 2 sessions/day has been promoted. The rate of students completing the program and graduating from all levels of education is over 98%. The literacy rate for people aged 15-35 is 99.6%. School facilities are invested in to meet the learning needs of students, with special attention paid to ethnic minority areas.

The district has 3 recognized historical relics, including 2 national relics. These works not only have traditional educational significance but are also highlights in the development of cultural tourism.

In addition, the district is researching and preserving the culture of the Ta Mun ethnic group in Tan Thanh commune, including language, costumes, customs, rituals, etc., thereby preserving the national cultural identity and creating momentum for sustainable development.

Agencies and units in the district strictly implement regulations on office culture, code of conduct, sense of responsibility, and exemplary behavior of cadres and party members. Degradation of ideology, ethics, and lifestyle is prevented and promptly handled. Inspection and supervision in building a cultural environment in the office are strengthened.

Poetry, sports, and mass art clubs operate effectively, contributing to enriching the spiritual life of the people. Community Cultural and Learning Centers operate stably, creating a lifelong learning environment.

Religious organizations in the district always accompany the development of the locality, promoting the spirit of "good life, good religion". Every year, religious establishments contribute more than 3 billion VND to charity activities, gratitude, helping the needy, orphans, etc.

The district also recognized many typical examples and models in building cultural life from ethnic communities. Ka Ot Hamlet (Tan Dong Commune) has been recognized as a cultural hamlet for 22 consecutive years, and Cham Hamlet (Suoi Day Commune) has been recognized as a cultural hamlet for 16 consecutive years.

With the close leadership of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the synchronous participation of the entire political system and the consensus of the people, the work of building and developing culture and people in Tan Chau district has changed positively and comprehensively. This is a solid foundation for the locality to continue to develop sustainably in the coming time.
