Vision and long-term investment strategy in Vietnam
With more than 30 years of presence in the Vietnamese market, from the first factory in Hoc Mon (HCMC), Suntory PepsiCo has maintained its commitment to continuously invest in Vietnam, expanding its presence across the country with 5 factories operating in Can Tho, Dong Nai, HCMC, Quang Nam (now Da Nang City) and Bac Ninh and started construction of a new factory in Long An (now Tay Ninh) in 2024 with the largest investment in its 30-year history of operation. Leading the beverage market, the company has been creating meaningful jobs for nearly 3,000 direct employees and tens of thousands of indirect employees.
Along with expanding production and business, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam has made its mark by making significant contributions to the state budget, continuously being in the Top 100 enterprises with the highest tax payments, and receiving many certificates of merit from the Ministry of Finance , the General Department of Taxation and the People's Committees of provinces and cities for effectively implementing tax policies, effectively contributing to the state budget, and promoting local economic development.
2024 marks an important milestone when this beverage company officially starts construction on the Long An factory, the largest investment project in 3 decades and also the largest factory in the Asia- Pacific region of the whole group. With a total investment of up to hundreds of millions of USD, this factory is equipped with the most modern production line today, featuring a highly automated operating system that helps optimize the efficiency of water and energy use.
In addition, the difference that makes the Suntory PepsiCo brand is the commitment to constantly innovate products for the health of consumers. In response to the consumer trend towards healthy products, the company has long been a pioneer in launching products with reduced sugar, no sugar or added vitamins such as Pepsi Zero Calories, Oolong Tea+ without sugar, Revive without sugar and no gas.
Not stopping there, Suntory PepsiCo is also the first beverage company in Vietnam to launch products with packaging made from 100% recycled plastic (rPET) (Pepsi) and promote the conversion of easily recyclable and biodegradable packaging. By 2025, the company's entire factory will have converted the use of energy for boilers from fossil fuels to renewable energy (biomass fuel), significantly reducing CO2 emissions during the production process.
Creating sustainable values for the community
Committed to water sustainability, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam has been greening upstream forests since 2021. In 2023, the company has partnered with the Department of Forestry and Forestry (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) to expand the "Water of Life - Water Conservation - For a Green Vietnam" program nationwide. The program not only focuses on planting upstream forests to protect groundwater and neutralize carbon, but also improves the livelihoods of local people through agroforestry models. With a vision to 2050, the company aims to return more water to nature than the amount of water used in production, clearly demonstrating the company's sustainable efforts.
Representatives of the Forestry Department and Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam signed a cooperation agreement in sustainable forest development, aiming at water conservation and carbon neutrality.
In order to raise awareness for future generations about water conservation, the program "Mizuiku - I love clean water" has been implemented by the company since 2015, becoming a pioneering project on education about saving and protecting water resources for primary school students in Vietnam. From 2023, the program will be officially taught by the Ministry of Education and Training in primary schools nationwide. After 10 years, "Mizuiku" has educated more than 1 million students, trained 16,000 teachers and built clean water works to help more than 4 million people access in 34 provinces and cities, contributing to changing the awareness of the young generation about protecting water resources.
Field trips help primary school students raise awareness about environmental and water protection
Along with the actions of regenerating, protecting and promoting education on environmental resources, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam has also continuously implemented practical support programs for the community. Specifically, the "Bring Tet Home" program helps more than 21,000 students and workers reunite with their families during Tet, of which 5,000 free bus tickets were provided in 2025 alone. The "Kind Arms - Happy Schools" program in 2024 will build 5 new schools, providing better learning conditions for 5,000 students and teachers. In particular, the annual charity golf tournament has donated to support the treatment of 430 pediatric cancer patients, affirming its commitment to community health.
