Under the glorious flag, the national television bridge on the evening of August 9, 2025 in Hanoi , Hue and Ho Chi Minh City, is a concert celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. Thousands of artists participated, combining modern technology to recreate the historical journey of the nation, from the silent sacrifices of Uncle Ho's soldiers to the aspiration to build a strong country.
Previously, the Unified Spring program was a profound tribute to the victory of April 30, 1975, gathering 1,000 artists. In the same spirit, the North-South Promise, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, with 800 artists, 12,500 audiences and folk music and animation depicting the historical promise. These programs not only have political and cultural values, arousing the spirit of national unity but also touch the hearts of young people.
Why are young people attracted to these shows? First of all, they convey a strong yet subtle “emotional energy” that avoids empty slogans. The key lies in the storytelling that is both standard and soft, guided by cultural, historical and traditional materials.
In particular, the programs are often broadcast on major holidays and anniversaries, on solemn stages, with elaborate staging. The combination of expressive art and modern performance technology, with high-class lighting and sound systems and the participation of leading artists, creates a multi-layered artistic space, where the audience not only watches but also lives in history, emotions and pride.
Young people are not only passive audiences but also “fire-starters” through content creation, comments, livestream sharing, and expressing their emotions towards historical stories told in contemporary language. On TikTok, Facebook, and Zalo, clips from the program attracted millions of views and comments. Many young people also went directly to the connecting points, wearing red flags with yellow stars, and singing revolutionary songs.
This shows that young people are not indifferent to history, but are willing to be “conquered” when approached in a close and lively way. The programs have cleverly blended entertainment, music , technology with educational content, making historical stories attractive. It is clear that, if conveyed properly, the young generation does not turn away but proactively learns and accepts historical values as a natural part of spiritual life, thereby nurturing pride and a sense of responsibility towards the Fatherland.
The interest of young people in political and artistic programs is a welcome sign, reflecting patriotism and national pride. Not empty, not forced, but with emotion and awareness, they are continuing to write the national epic.
Hopefully such programs will continue to be invested in, so that the young generation will not only be audiences but also become history makers of tomorrow.
