On September 4, Vinh Long University of Technical Education held a departure ceremony to participate in the 47th World Skills Competition (WSC Lyon 2024) in Lyon (France).
This is the fourth consecutive year that Vinh Long University of Technical Education has participated in the World Skills Competition. This year, the school has 8 candidates participating in all 5 occupations: IT network system administration, IT network cable installation, industry 4.0, mobile robots, and mechatronics.
The delegation of Vinh Long University of Technical Education includes 8 contestants, 4 experts and 4 interpreters.

The 47th WorldSkills Competition in 2024 will be held in Lyon (France) from September 10 to 15. There will be a total of 63 occupations, with the participation of more than 1,500 candidates from 65 countries and territories. The Vietnamese delegation has 12 candidates competing in 9 occupations.
The competition is considered a great opportunity for countries to promote and develop vocational skills training systems according to international standards to meet the increasingly stringent requirements of the labor market for young, high-quality human resources. At the same time, it emphasizes the message that our current environmental, economic and social challenges can only be solved by prioritizing vocational skills development.
Vinh Long University of Technical Education has represented Vietnam in the World Skills Competition for four consecutive times and won the ASEAN Skills Competition 2018 gold medal; ASEAN Skills Competition 2016 silver medal; ASEAN Skills Competition 2023 bronze medal and the overall first place in the 2022 National Skills Competition.
