Indian students choose Vietnam to study abroad

We had the opportunity to meet and talk with a group of first-year Indian students studying at Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy ( Dak Lak ) to learn about the process of deciding to study medicine and pharmacy in Vietnam.

Xiao Rayan (24 years old) shared that after a week in Vietnam, the group of Indian students participated in a dance competition organized by the school. At this exchange, the group of Indian students received applause and encouragement from Vietnamese students. "On the first day in Vietnam, I was quite surprised by Vietnamese culture. However, we were very excited to experience the cuisine and daily life through the guidance of Vietnamese teachers and students," said Xiao Rayan.

The group of Indian students shared that there were many factors in choosing to study in Vietnam, including: good quality of education, reasonable costs compared to other countries, and diplomatic relations between India and Vietnam. In addition, the developed healthcare system in Vietnam is what made Indian students decide to study medicine. In particular, Vietnamese people are very friendly and hospitable, and this is also a good condition for Indian students to study and live conveniently.

"The Vietnamese host was very hospitable, giving us free food, coffee and teaching us Vietnamese," Mahaweta (20 years old) added. "If we have the opportunity to participate in social activities, we will be willing to participate to help the people. The culture of the Central Highlands is colorful, with costumes, songs, cuisine... somewhat as diverse as the culture of India," Mahaweta added.

Cultural exchange and sharing

Talking to Thanh Nien reporter, Professor Cao Tien Duc, Principal of Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy, said that for a long time, when talking about international integration, we often think of the trend of Vietnamese people having to go abroad to study or invite experts from developed countries to Vietnam.

However, integration always has two directions. The fact that international students come to study at universities has affirmed the position of the environment and the prestige of Vietnam's university education has been developing strongly, reaching regional and international levels.

"At the same time, Indian students studying together with Vietnamese students contributes to promoting cultural exchanges between Vietnam and India; enhancing the image of Vietnamese people in the perception of Indian people. And vice versa, this is also an opportunity for Vietnamese students studying at the school to exchange and learn languages," said Professor Cao Tien Duc.
