Supermodel Xuan Lan: "I don't like competing for position with young people"

(Dan Tri) - Although she no longer appears regularly on the catwalk, supermodel Xuan Lan still persistently contributes to the fashion industry as a trainer.

At the age of 47, Xuan Lan is still tirelessly contributing to the Vietnamese modeling industry. She no longer stands on the catwalk as a performing model, but she continues to be an inspiration through training.

"As a lucky model to have success, I want to dedicate myself to the profession for a long time by choosing the mission of being a trainer. I devote all my heart and love to generations of students," Xuan Lan shared.

Currently, she is actively expanding model training centers in many provinces and cities and continues to organize professional programs to help young models develop professional skills.

When asked if she was concerned that the teacher-student relationship would easily lead to conflicts when they later became colleagues, Xuan Lan frankly said: "When I chose the mission of being a ferryman, I had to accept only silently giving. I am happy with any student who succeeds. The passion of the profession needs to be continued from generation to generation."

Not hesitating to step back, Xuan Lan affirmed that she does not place too much importance on keeping the vedette position or competing for the spotlight with the new generation of young models and beauty queens.

"I am from the old generation of models, so "old bamboo, new bamboo grows". Talented young people need to be given the opportunity to shine. I don't like to compete with young people for positions. If I see you on stage, it will probably be as an ambassador for a charity campaign or a special program. I am happy to see my students shine, not wanting to steal their spotlight," she said.

Recently, Xuan Lan attracted attention when she officially became the head of the Model Club under the Hai Phong Youth Culture and Sports Palace. This is an activity to spread the spirit of professionalism, professional ethics and fashion inspiration to local youth.

She said: "The establishment of the club not only helps young people who love modeling and fashion have a systematic learning environment, but also provides a place to exchange, practice personal qualities and develop talents in a healthy and professional way."

Although she no longer appears regularly on the catwalk, Xuan Lan is still invited to take on many important roles such as judge of the Miss Earth Vietnam 2025 contest or catwalk director of major fashion shows.
