After Korea, Kim Long bus continues to penetrate the Thai market

Representatives of Kim Long Motor Hue Joint Stock Company and Cho Thavee Group (Thailand) signed a cooperation contract to buy and sell buses.

On the morning of June 27, in Hue City, Kim Long Motor Hue Joint Stock Company and Cho Thavee Group (Thailand) officially signed a large-scale sales cooperation contract, marking an important turning point in the journey to reach regional stature of the Vietnamese automobile industry.

According to the agreement, Kim Long Motor will provide a total of 700 Kim Long brand buses for passenger transport in Thailand, including 500 12 m electric buses (EV) and 200 7.5 m diesel buses, using Yuchai engines manufactured at Kim Long Motor Hue Engine Manufacturing and Manufacturing Factory.

This is the first large-scale bus export contract between Kim Long Motor and a strategic partner in Southeast Asia, contributing to affirming the product quality and production capacity of Vietnamese enterprises in the international market.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dao Viet Anh, General Director of Kim Long Motor shared: "After Korea, Thailand will be the next country to mark the presence of Kim Long brand buses, accompanying people on safe and convenient travel journeys. This is not only an important milestone in the development and integration process of Kim Long Motor, but also demonstrates a strong commitment to bringing high-quality commercial vehicles that meet international standards to the regional market. The signing of a cooperation agreement with Cho Thavee - one of the leading prestigious corporations in Thailand, is a clear demonstration of the trust and recognition from international partners for the research and production capacity and cooperative spirit of Vietnamese enterprises".

On the Thai partner side, Mr. Khun Ju, Member of the Board of Directors of Cho Thavee Group, CEO of NP Energysaving expressed: "We are extremely impressed with the development speed, modern production system and professionalism in the working style of Kim Long Motor. Actual assessment shows that Kim Long buses not only have high technical quality but also have good customization ability, adapting to the actual usage needs in Thailand. The cooperation between Kim Long Motor and Cho Thavee is an important link in our strategy to develop a sustainable transportation network, not only in Thailand but also with the vision of expanding to Southeast Asian countries in the near future".

Both vehicle lines selected in the contract signed between Kim Long Motor and Cho Thavee Group are completely new products, researched and developed based on international technical standards and flexibly customized to optimize the climate conditions, traffic infrastructure and operating standards of Thailand.

In particular, the 12m electric bus (EV) model stands out with its modern, environmentally friendly design, equipped with advanced large-capacity battery technology, allowing the vehicle to operate stably, smoothly and efficiently in many operating conditions. With the ability to save energy and reduce emissions, this vehicle line meets the requirements for green transportation development, and is also consistent with the sustainable energy transition strategy of the Thai Government .

The remaining product is a 7.5 m bus model using diesel fuel that meets Euro 5 emission standards, designed with a compact size, high flexibility, and optimized for operation in crowded inner-city areas or on short routes. In particular, the vehicle line is equipped with a Yuchai engine - a leading Chinese brand manufactured right at the Kim Long Motor Hue Engine Manufacturing and Production Factory. The factory broke ground in August 2024 with a total investment of 260 million USD and a level of automation of more than 90%. In addition, the vehicle line was researched and developed by Kim Long Motor's engineering team to optimize durability, fuel economy and maintenance costs - key factors that help improve operational efficiency for transport businesses.

This first delivery is part of the annual contract to supply 200 Kim Long brand buses of various types to serve tourism and student transportation activities in Korea, signed by the two parties in April.

The official presence of the first 'Made in Vietnam' electric bus in Korea - a market famous for its strict standards of quality and technology - is not only an important milestone for Kim Long Motor, but also a historical milestone for the Vietnamese automobile industry, proving that Vietnam has completely mastered high technology and confidently competed in the international market.
