BHG - On July 1, Ha Giang Newspaper will officially close its 61-year journey of construction and development to enter a new phase when merging with Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television Station. The new media agency will grow stronger, more clearly affirming its role as a pioneering force in propagating, spreading aspirations, fostering love for the homeland and country, and promoting local cultural identity.

61 years ago, on April 13, 1964, the Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 11 NQ/TU deciding to "officially establish the Newspaper of the Vietnam Labor Party Committee in Ha Giang province, named Ha Giang Newspaper". During the period 1964 - 2007, Ha Giang Newspaper only published printed publications. Before the development of the internet and other types of electronic journalism, in 2007, Ha Giang Electronic Newspaper was born in the form of an electronic information page; on November 8, 2019, Ha Giang Electronic Newspaper was officially granted an Electronic Newspaper Operation License. Promoting the strengths of digital technology , Ha Giang Electronic Newspaper has built specialized pages, columns, and products with unique characteristics of multimedia journalism such as: Internet television, radio, Emagazine, Story, Infographic and transmitted on platforms such as Facebook, Youtube, Tiktok...

Since its inception, despite numerous difficulties, Ha Giang Newspaper has affirmed its pioneering role on the ideological and cultural front of the Party. On the journey of development, in line with the country's innovation, implementing the revolution of streamlining the apparatus, at the end of April, Ha Giang Newspaper officially merged with the provincial Radio and Television Station to form a new agency named Ha Giang Newspaper. From here, Ha Giang Newspaper has many more types of press, such as: printed newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television, better meeting the requirements and propaganda tasks of the Provincial Party Committee; promptly conveying the guidelines, policies and lines of the Party and State to the People; promptly reflecting the thoughts and aspirations of the People to the Party Committees and authorities at all levels.
Commenting on the Ha Giang press, Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh affirmed: The provincial press has performed well its tasks of informing and propagating the Party and State's guidelines and policies; providing comprehensive and timely information on the situation in the province, domestically and internationally; deeply reflecting all aspects of social life; discovering and contributing to multiplying good values, new factors, effective models, good practices, good people and good deeds in all areas of life. At the same time, it has refuted distorted, incorrect and negative arguments; contributed to the fight against corruption and waste; protected national sovereignty, maintained political stability and social order and safety.
During its 61-year journey of establishment and development, Ha Giang Newspaper has always been trusted and recognized by readers, considered an indispensable spiritual food. Mr. Vang Quang Pao, Head of Hau Cau Village, Xin Man Commune, Xin Man District, shared: “Ha Giang Newspaper has always been the “bridge” between the Party’s will and the people’s hearts in the border areas. Through official information on Ha Giang Newspaper, people can grasp current news; the Party’s policies and guidelines, the State’s laws and policies; regulations and agreements related to national borders and territorial sovereignty; policies and responsibilities, obligations of compatriots and residents in border areas…
Ha Giang Newspaper has many articles accurately reflecting the difficulties of ethnic minorities, policies to support rural development, and effective business models of the people, thereby helping people learn and trust in the Party's policies and the State's policies.
Mr. Vang Di Pho, Secretary of the Youth Union of Lung Cu commune (Dong Van) said, Ha Giang Newspaper has been established and developed for 61 years, I have also been a reader of the newspaper for over 10 years. Through the information in the newspaper, we have promptly and accurately grasped important events of the province, country and locality. In particular, I really like the column "Studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh", "Example of good people, good deeds" or the "Start-up" section in Ha Giang Newspaper regularly. Thanks to this column, many Youth Union officials have found the right direction from lifestyle to economic development direction... From everyday life examples, it has helped the young generation to seriously improve themselves, contributing a small part to building their homeland.
Solid luggage for tomorrow
In a recent working session between the leaders of Ha Giang Newspaper and Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television Station, the two main media agencies of the two provinces agreed to merge and establish a multimedia press agency, combining print newspapers, electronic newspapers, television, radio and digital media... officially operating from July 1 to better serve, more promptly, and more proactively the propaganda work. The channels, print and electronic publications of the Newspaper and the Radio and Television Station will officially broadcast on July 1. The merger of the press agencies helps the two sides take advantage of human resources, information technology, and facilities, better meeting the propaganda needs of the Provincial Party Committee in the new development stage.
According to Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh, our country and province are entering a new stage of development with opportunities, advantages and difficulties, challenges intertwined, posing new requirements for the press sector, requiring revolutionary press and journalists and journalists to continue to innovate, be creative, and strive to further promote their role and position in informing and orienting public opinion, contributing more to the cause of building and defending the country. At the same time, each journalist must always be deeply aware of their role and mission as the voice of the Party Committee, the government, and the forum of the people; regularly cultivate professional qualities and ethics, grasp the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; actively study and research Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought, in conjunction with properly implementing the Press Law and regulations on journalistic ethics. Regularly practice to improve qualifications, expertise, and professionalism, absorb and apply modern journalism skills to become sharp and proficient writers, actively contributing to the development of the province.
From July 1, 2025, the new provincial administrative units will start operating. Therefore, the provincial press agencies need to complete the consolidation plan, ensure that broadcasting and publishing activities are not interrupted, and create conditions for staff and journalists to work with peace of mind and continue to contribute. "I believe that this will be an opportunity for press agencies to restructure, develop strongly; continue to make many outstanding contributions, affirm their worthy position in the Vietnamese revolutionary press, and accompany the province to conquer new heights in the era of national prosperity and development," said Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh.
Before the new development moment, readers also have high expectations, Mr. Vang Di Pho, Secretary of the Youth Union of Lung Cu commune (Dong Van) hopes that the newspaper agency will continue to have good, quality articles, meaningful columns, always be a useful information channel, contribute to educating, promoting patriotism, national pride; at the same time, adding motivation, encouraging the young generation to participate in socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security, contributing to promoting industrialization, modernization of the country and international integration.
Mr. Trieu Duc Thanh, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, hopes that journalists will always maintain their "professional passion", be objective and responsible with every word they write. From there, they will contribute to making the Party's voice closer to the people, clearer, making the spiritual life of the people richer and more vivid, so that they can all fully enjoy the civilization of the times and the country.
