2025 university admission benchmark scores to be announced soon

From 12:30 today (August 22), universities will begin announcing admission scores for 2025.

According to the latest information from the Ministry of Education and Training , the virtual selection process for admission in 2025 (after 10 times) will end at 12:30 today, August 22.

After that, the university or college will enter the admission score and the admission results into the system. This means that the schools will be announced the admission scores from that time. The Ministry of Education and Training stipulates that the announcement of the first round of admission results in 2025 must be done before 5:00 p.m. on August 22.

The Ministry of Education and Training said that this year, due to the large number of candidates registering for university and college admissions, and the first year that colleges participate in admissions, there is no longer early admission, and all admission methods used in the first round are used, so the virtual filtering time must be extended.

To ensure accurate and fair admission results, the Ministry of Education and Training recommends that schools focus on and urgently review all data, admission methods, and situations in the context of using a lot of candidate data. Schools also need to carefully calculate the plan and propose an appropriate virtual ratio to avoid a large number of virtual numbers, affecting the recruitment sources of other schools, as well as enrolling students beyond the school's quota and training capacity.

Some schools have given specific time frames for announcing the benchmark scores: Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced at 4:00 p.m. on August 22. Meanwhile, National Economics University announced at 4:56 p.m. on August 22, with the expected admission time for new students from 8:00 a.m. on August 25 to 5:00 p.m. on August 31. University of Finance and Marketing announced at 7:30 p.m. on August 22, in a special program broadcast live on the school's digital platforms.

In 2025, the number of candidates and registration wishes both increased sharply. Nationwide, there were more than 7.6 million registered wishes, accounting for more than 73% of the total number of candidates. On average, each candidate registered nearly 9 wishes. The number of candidates registering for admission also skyrocketed by more than 115,000 compared to 2024, partly due to vocational colleges participating in the common admission system.

The benchmark score is more difficult to predict than previous years, which is the general opinion of many universities in this year's virtual filtering process, due to major changes in the way it is organized and implemented.
