Passengers are tired in the exit corridor due to lack of coordination between departments at the airport - Photo: QB
Coordination is not tight
According to reports, flight QH191 from Da Nang landed at Tan Son Nhat airport at nearly 1:00 a.m.
Passengers move through the telescopic tube into the terminal. When they reach the end of the corridor, they discover that the glass doors are locked, with no airport staff on duty to open them.
The group of guests had to wait from 0:45 to 1:06 in a closed, stuffy space, making many people tired and worried.
The airport determined the preliminary cause was due to lack of coordination between airline staff and the corridor gate control department.
In particular, the incident arose but was not reported promptly to the head of duty for immediate handling.
Immediately after the incident, relevant units were asked to learn from experience, review procedures and strictly implement coordination regulations in serving night flights.
Airport representatives also affirmed that they will increase inspection and supervision to avoid similar incidents from happening again, affecting the passenger experience.
There must be measures to remedy and ensure passenger rights.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , a ground service company said that poor coordination between departments at the airport is not uncommon. For example, the plane lands but the elevator has not arrived in time or passengers have to wait a long time for their luggage.
The problem of being "stuck" in the hallway and having to wait for a long time in the early morning is also something that businesses are paying attention to for their employees. When an incident occurs, it must be reported and responded to more quickly, minimizing inconvenience to customers.
Previously, images and information about the incident spread on social media, attracting many comments and shares. Many opinions said that large airports need to have a quick response scenario at all hours, especially at night when flight frequency is low but the need for passenger support does not decrease.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has requested the Southern Airports Authority to preside over and coordinate with Tan Son Nhat Airport and related units to inspect, clarify the incident and take remedial measures to ensure the legitimate rights of passengers.
