Sa Pa seeks solutions to develop organic agriculture associated with sustainable tourism development

The workshop was attended by a number of scientists and experts in the fields of agriculture and tourism; leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches; leaders of a number of wards, communes, agencies, enterprises and cooperatives inside and outside the province.

Sa Pa has an average altitude of about 1,500m above sea level, a temperate climate, cool all year round, fertile soil, majestic natural landscapes and rich cultural identities of many ethnic groups. These are ideal conditions for developing specific agriculture associated with sustainable tourism .

Sa Pa Ward farmers have focused on developing high-quality agricultural products.

In recent years, Sa Pa ward has focused on developing high-quality agricultural products, organic agriculture, and at the same time increasing the application of science and technology in production. Up to now, the average production value has reached about 160 million VND/ha of cultivated land and aquaculture.

Regarding tourism, in the first 7 months of 2025, the number of visitors to Sa Pa reached over 3 million, this is a great opportunity to consume agricultural products and develop agricultural tourism and experiential tourism.

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Bao - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Green Economy Institute spoke at the Workshop.

Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hai - Tourism Expert, Lecturer of Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages, Vietnam Academy of Agriculture presented many solutions at the Workshop.

At the workshop, scientists, experts; representatives of enterprises, cooperatives and leaders of Sa Pa ward discussed, analyzed the potential, advantages and proposed specific solutions and directions in applying science and technology to develop organic agricultural products associated with sustainable tourism development in the ward.

Comrade Phan Dang Toan - Provincial Party Committee member, Party Secretary, Chairman of Sa Pa Ward People's Council spoke at the Workshop.

Speaking at the workshop, comrade Phan Dang Toan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Sa Pa ward thanked the experts, scientists, representatives of agencies, enterprises, and cooperatives for giving many enthusiastic opinions, suggesting many important directions for Sa Pa ward to complete the Resolution on promoting the application of science and technology in agricultural development; innovating and creating to improve the quality of OCOP products associated with tourism in Sa Pa ward. Thereby, contributing towards building Sa Pa ward to increasingly develop green - sustainable - smart.
