Therefore, this year the school's enrollment work basically does not encounter any difficulties.”
In preparation for the enrollment of grade 6 students at Cam Thuy Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities (Cam Thuy), the People's Committee of Cam Thuy district has issued a decision to allocate enrollment quotas for grade 6 students at Cam Thuy Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities in the 2025-2026 school year to students from 15 communes and towns in Region I, ethnic minority and mountainous areas (according to Decision No. 861/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister ) in the district. With a total quota of 70, Cam Thuy district divides the allocation ratio to ensure that the assigned quota is met.
Similarly, in Lang Chanh district, teacher Nguyen Xuan Chien, Principal of Lang Chanh Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, said: “In the 2025-2026 school year, the school was assigned to enroll 70 students. However, from May 28 to 30, 88 applications were received. To ensure that the quota is met and the right candidates are ethnic minority children according to the regulations in Circular 04/2023/TT-BGDDT, Lang Chanh district held a meeting of the Steering Committee for exams and enrollment in the district, agreed on the policy, implementation spirit and thoroughly disseminated to related units.
Head of the Department of Education and Training of Lang Chanh District, Nguyen Ngoc Son, said: “Enrollment at Lang Chanh Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities is carried out according to the instructions of the Department of Education and Training and Circular No. 04/2023/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training . Basically, enrollment is not difficult because the enrollment target as prescribed in Circular 04 is very broad, and enrollment quotas are suitable for the needs and aspirations of students. The Department of Education and Training has advised the District People's Committee to issue an enrollment plan, establish an enrollment council, allocate quotas to communes and towns... with the view of implementing enrollment work strictly, for the right target, and in accordance with regulations".
According to the provisions of Clause 4, Article 9, Circular 04/2023/TT-BGDDT: In case the students are subject to admission according to regulations smaller than the scale of the ethnic minority boarding school in the area, the Provincial People's Committee can prescribe additional areas to create human resource training sources for ethnic groups to enroll more subjects who are ethnic minorities from poor and near-poor households, and whose parents or guardians have resided for 36 consecutive months or more in this area as of the date of application for admission. This regulation helps to expand the admission subjects, making it easier for ethnic minority boarding schools to enroll.
Ethnic minority schools are important and indispensable educational institutions in the care and education of children of ethnic minorities in the province. The fact that ethnic minority schools recruit the right and sufficient students will contribute to improving the people's knowledge, nurturing human resources, training talents for children of ethnic minorities, and contributing to improving the quality of education in the province.
