According to the Vietnam Women's Football Development Strategy, VFF has set specific goals: Comprehensively develop and professionalize football from the domestic tournament system, clubs to the national team level, raising the level of the tournament; Striving to have 3 clubs meeting the criteria to participate in the AFC Champions League for women by 2028; Implement basic licensing of professional women's football clubs by 2027; Enter the Top 5 teams in Asia; Enter the 2026 and 2029 Women's Asian Cup Finals; Enter the 2031 Women's World Cup Finals; Equip and support female coaches and female referees to reach the pinnacle of their profession; Striving to have 1 female referee to officiate at the 2027 Women's World Cup; 4 female coaches with AFC Pro qualifications by 2030… To popularize women’s football, the goal is to broadcast live and online all matches of the national women’s championship and the national women’s team by 2027. Develop and shape the brand of the tournament and the national women’s team, inspiring female players to play football, watch football and follow football; Strive to achieve 30% of female students participating in school football programs by 2028…

VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan affirmed: “We have witnessed a historic moment when the national women's team won the right to participate in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup Finals in New Zealand for the first time. However, to continue to maintain the momentum of development and move towards professionalism, Vietnamese women's football needs a long-term, systematic strategy supported by domestic and international resources. The Vietnam Women's Football Development Strategy Project is a key step in that roadmap - laying the foundation for specific plans on talent training, tournament system development, professional capacity enhancement and improvement of facilities for women's football."

With such an ambitious strategy of VFF, we believe that the Vietnamese women's national team will continue to participate in the World Cup and become a strong brand of women's football in the world. Mr. Simon Toselli - women's football expert of the World Football Federation (FIFA) shared about VFF's ambition: "I believe that this strategy will help women's football develop further, opening up many new opportunities for girls and women, both on the field and in society, and at the same time empowering the future generation. VFF has great potential and a clear vision. This strategy will open up many opportunities for girls and women not only in football but also in life", Mr. Simon Toselli emphasized.
