Implementing the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", in recent years, the Party Committees, authorities and people of Quang Tri province have effectively implemented the policies of the Party and State for people with revolutionary contributions; focused on mobilizing and allocating resources, effectively taking care of the material and spiritual life and sustainably reducing poverty for poor households with members who are policy beneficiaries of people with revolutionary contributions in the province.

Mobilized resources have been prioritized to support poor households and people with revolutionary contributions to improve income criteria and indicators of basic social service shortages. Many households have escaped poverty and improved their material and spiritual lives.

It is known that by the end of 2020, according to the multidimensional poverty standard applied for the period 2016-2020, there are no more poor households with meritorious people in the province. However, according to the multidimensional poverty standard for the period 2022-2025, there are still 218 poor households with meritorious people in the province with 929 people. The number of poor households with meritorious people is mostly concentrated in the mountainous districts of the province (Huong Hoa: 145 households with 634 people; Dakrong has 62 households with 269 people).

In order to ensure that the living standards of people with revolutionary contributions are equal to or higher than the average of the residential community, and at the same time continue to promote poverty reduction for households with revolutionary contributions, Quang Tri province strives that by the end of 2025, there will be no poor households with revolutionary contributions in the province (excluding poor households with revolutionary contributions who are unable to escape poverty, which are households with no one capable of working to generate income).

To achieve the set goals, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province requested departments, branches, unions, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to review and investigate conditions and circumstances, identify causes of poverty to develop detailed plans, and propose drastic implementation solutions suitable for each household. At the same time, propagate and mobilize the implementation of the poverty reduction policy for poor households and meritorious people; focus on disseminating and directly dialogue so that poor households understand the Party's policies and the State's policies, voluntarily promote their own responsibilities, the family's internal strength, and create consensus among people in implementing the poverty reduction plan.

In addition, synchronously and promptly implement solutions to directly support poor households and meritorious people to overcome the minimum living standard, improve access to basic social indicators/services according to multidimensional poverty standards. Prioritize State budget sources from National Target Programs, other programs and projects in the area with appropriate implementation content to support poor households and meritorious people to improve income criteria and basic social services.

The province will also support production development, diversify livelihoods, replicate poverty reduction models, provide vocational training, provide job counseling, export labor, and address the need for loans from poor households and people with meritorious services to create jobs and income. Continue to effectively implement social security policies to help poor households have a stable life.
