Leaders of Can Tho City Labor Federation visited the production situation and union activities at TKG TaeKwang Can Tho Company Limited.
The Executive Committee of the Grassroots Trade Union (CTU) of Tri-Viet International Company Limited has just held a conference to collect opinions from union members and employees on the development of the Collective Labor Agreement for 2025. Union members and employees directly contributed opinions on issues related to employment and labor contracts; wages, benefits; social policies; vocational training, training, and improvement of vocational skills; rewards and discipline... Mr. Quach Minh Thao, Chairman of the Trade Union of Tri - Viet International Company Limited said: "The Executive Board of the Company's Trade Union always pays attention to grasping the living and working situation and implementing well the policies for union members and employees; proactively gathering opinions of union members and employees to negotiate with the business owner to amend and supplement the collective labor agreement with many provisions beneficial to union members and employees. Specifically, the Company pays accident insurance for all employees who have signed contracts with the Company, including probationary and seasonal workers; supports lunch or mid-shift meals (once a day) and 1 snack if there is overtime of 3 hours or more. The Company's Trade Union advises on implementing well the policies and regimes for employees according to the law...".
Can Tho City currently has 7 industrial parks, with 138,855 union members/162,137 employees; 432/512 enterprises have signed collective labor agreements. Most of the content of collective labor agreements focuses on provisions that are more beneficial to employees than those prescribed by law. Notably, Lac Ty II Company Limited is an FDI enterprise, with about 12,500 employees. Ms. Nguyen Thi Gion, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Lac Ty II Company Limited, said: "Many provisions in the collective labor agreement, such as salary, bonus, welfare regimes... are negotiated in favor of employees. The role of the union is also demonstrated through timely support activities when union members and employees encounter difficulties, suffer from serious illnesses, build a Union Shelter... Currently, the average income of employees working at Lac Ty II Company Limited is guaranteed to be over 6 million VND/person/month".
Every year, the Trade Union of TKG TaeKwang Can Tho Co., Ltd. coordinates with the Company's leaders to organize dialogues at the workplace, grasp the ideological situation of union members and employees to make timely and appropriate adjustments; create a favorable working environment for union members and employees. Currently, employees at the Company are supported with shift meals with the value of administrative shift meals, shifts 1 and 2 being 20,000 VND/meal, the value of meals on shift 3 being 25,000 VND/meal; receive additional wages when working in shifts and overtime; have various types of travel and housing allowances; allowances according to the level of hard work and many reward policies...
After merging Can Tho City, Hau Giang Province and Soc Trang into Can Tho City and implementing the policy of streamlining the trade union apparatus, one of the tasks set by the Can Tho City Trade Union is to continue to organize activities to care for the lives; protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers. The City Labor Confederation proactively grasps the thoughts, aspirations and lives of workers, especially in industrial parks, non-state enterprises, and workers in the informal sector; strengthens coordination with relevant sectors to conduct inspections, checks and supervision of the implementation of labor laws, labor safety and hygiene, social insurance, health insurance, and implementation of grassroots democracy regulations in enterprises. At the same time, strengthen labor law consultancy activities and legal support at grassroots trade unions; Direct and guide grassroots trade unions to proactively propose to business owners to negotiate and sign to improve the quality of collective labor agreements... Thereby, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises; creating more motivation for union members and employees to work with peace of mind and make efforts to contribute.
