Air Defense - Air Force practice shooting and dropping live bombs and ammunition

On September 24, at the National Military Training Center 2 (Tay Son district, Binh Dinh province), Division 372 and the Air Force Officer School of the Air Defense - Air Force Service organized a shooting exercise, dropping live bombs and ammunition on ground targets in daylight conditions.

The event was attended and directed by Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, along with leaders of the Military Training Department and leaders of the Air Defense - Air Force. In addition, leaders of agencies, units of the Army, local armed forces and Party committees and authorities were also present to monitor.

The units participating in the exercise included Regiment 925, Regiment 930 (under Division 372) and Regiment 940 (Air Force Officer School). Pilots and flight crews of Regiments 925 and 930 used Su-27 aircraft and Mi-8 helicopters, while pilots and instructors of Regiment 940 carried out the task of shooting and bombing ground targets using Iak-130 aircraft.

During the exercise, the pilots conducted many planned attacks on targets, from simple to complex flights, using bombs, artillery shells and rockets to destroy targets during the day. The pilots and flight crew strictly followed the regulations and flight techniques, and were calm and confident in the use of weapons.

On the night of September 25, units will continue to practice shooting and bombing ground targets at night.

At the drill, Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son acknowledged and commended the efforts of the units in leading, directing and organizing training. He requested the units to continue to thoroughly grasp the resolutions and directives of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense , and the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, in order to improve the quality of training and combat readiness, while closely managing the airspace of the Fatherland.

During the meeting with young officers and students of the Air Force Officer School, Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son shared valuable lessons and experiences in studying and training, encouraging young officers to practice political courage, good health, master theory, actively practice and master aircraft, weapons, and technical equipment to be ready to complete all assigned tasks.
