The ITER fusion reactor is considered humanity's greatest ambition in the quest for clean energy.
lo-8.png
Scientists recently completed the sixth module of the central solenoid cluster in the US, marking a key step forward.
lo-7.png
This is the strongest superconducting magnet ever made, capable of withstanding a force equivalent to 6.7 million tons.
lo-6.png
When completed, ITER's magnetic system will weigh 3,000 tons, be 12.7 meters high and 4.1 meters wide.
lo-5.png
The entire giant magnet must be cooled to -269 degrees Celsius to maintain its superconducting state.
lo-2.png
Thanks to that, ITER can control plasma 10 times hotter than the core of the Sun and generate 10 times more return energy.
lo-3.png
The ultimate goal is to produce 500 MW of electricity from just 50 MW of input, opening up the prospect of limitless energy.

If operational by 2035, ITER could usher in a new era of clean energy and transform global industry.
