Nam Sam Son Ward evacuated 262 households to safe places to avoid the storm.

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - With the motto of ensuring people's safety above all, Nam Sam Son ward has proactively deployed many measures to respond to storm No. 5 (Kajiki).

Households were taken to the evacuation area at Quang Vinh Secondary School.

Accordingly, the Party Committee and People's Committee of the ward directed the Public Service Center of the ward and residential groups to strengthen propaganda about the storm's developments; guide measures to ensure safety for people and property.

Local forces were mobilized to support fishermen in moving boats and rafts; securing houses, placing assets to clear the flow, checking electrical systems, advertising signs, and pruning trees to prevent risks.

The ward People's Committee also issued a notice requesting households in 10 coastal residential groups to proactively reinforce their houses, prepare food, medicine and personal belongings, and be ready to evacuate when ordered.

On the night of August 24, coastal residential groups mobilized the elderly, children and disabled to stay with families in safe areas.

Nam Sam Son Ward evacuated households living 200m from the sea edge to safety.

From 6am on August 25, all 262 households with 943 people living within 200m from the sea edge (Thu Phu, Phu Xa, Thanh Minh, Quang Minh, Hong Hai, Tay Nam, Nam Bac, residential groups 1,2 Dai Hung) began to be evacuated to safe places. In particular, 36 households with 124 people will be arranged to take shelter at Quang Vinh Secondary School and residential group 1 Dai Hung.

Currently, the evacuation work is being actively implemented. Based on the developments of the storm, the Party Committee and the People's Committee of Nam Sam Son Ward will have further instructions to ensure the safety of people's lives and property, and minimize damage caused by the storm.
