According to records, at around 9am this morning, more than 10 parents representing a group of parents in Ho Chi Minh City whose children are taking the entrance exam for grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School were present at the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training to send a petition to the industry leaders.
A parent shared concerns during the admission process, the scores in the exam were not clear and transparent.
“My child said that each question in the test did not have a score note and that the distribution of the test sections between multiple choice and essay was different from previous years,” the parent said.
According to them, this makes many candidates confused.
“Why was this change not announced in advance? Was there anything fishy? Therefore, we submitted a petition to the Department for a clear and transparent explanation,” the group of parents reflected.
After contacting, the parent group representative sent 2 people to work with the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City. Many parents are waiting in front of the Department's headquarters lobby, hoping to receive a satisfactory answer.
Previously, in question number 2 of the math and logic test, there was also controversial content. The question was: "How many different ways can you place 3 beans, each bean in a square in the image below so that each row and each column has only one bean?".
The answer given by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City is 8 ways.

Many parents and teachers commented that the question was incorrect. According to the analysis: "The question gives 4 columns, so there is no way to arrange them to meet the requirements of the question. Because the question is wrong, the answer with 8 ways is incorrect."
Responding to Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the Department is meeting with parents to listen to their opinions and wishes.
Regarding question 2, Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc said that the answer provided by the Department was 8 ways. However, during the marking and reviewing process, the marking council found that some candidates' answers were outside the options such as 0 and 48 ways, which are consistent with the logical thinking of the subject.
Therefore, the board of examiners decided to accept all three results: 8, 0 and 48 ways. Thus, students were given 3 points according to the survey's scoring scale with the above three results.
Previously, on June 19, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced the answers and scores of the math and logic test, but did not announce the test questions as usual every year.
