Ms. Ksor H'Nhin (born in 1982), a preschool teacher in Ia Mla commune, Krong Pa district, has been involved in the career of educating people for more than 20 years. Despite having a professional degree, she still decided to return to the exam room to complete the high school program, a journey full of challenges.

Ms. H'Nhin said that before, she was one of the few people in the village who studied in the 9+3 system. After completing, she continued to study at Gia Lai Pedagogical College and then taught at a kindergarten in Ia Mla commune.

During her work, she also took the opportunity to study at Hanoi Pedagogical University.

According to Ms. H'Nhin, due to the special nature, many teachers and officials in disadvantaged areas studied in the 9+3 system and did not have a high school diploma. To standardize their degrees according to regulations, she and many colleagues registered for supplementary courses at the ContinuingEducation Center of Krong Pa district.

In 2024, Ms. H'Nhin took the high school graduation exam but was unlucky. Putting aside her sadness, the female teacher continued to study hard to register to retake the exam this year.

“We are older and the curriculum is very different from our generation, so studying is difficult. On the other hand, we have to ensure teaching in class, and review time is only 2 days on the weekend,” Ms. H'Nhin shared.

Regarding the literature exam on the morning of June 26, Ms. H'Nhin expressed her concern because of the wide range of knowledge and difficult questions. She herself tried her best to present the knowledge she had learned and reviewed.

Similarly, Ms. Kpa Koa (born in 1986), a preschool teacher in Dat Bang commune, Krong Pa district with more than 22 years of experience, is also striving to obtain a high school diploma. She and many colleagues have taken advantage of the opportunity to attend supplementary classes at the Krong Pa District Continuing Education Center.

This year was the first time Ms. Koă took the high school graduation exam, so the pressure was even heavier. Worried, she had to take a week off work to focus on reviewing and consolidating her knowledge.

“This year’s essay questions were designed to be open-ended so that candidates could express their personal opinions. I also used all the knowledge I had learned, but I was afraid of getting off topic,” Ms. Koă confided.

Mr. Kpa Ri (born in 1981, residing in Ia Kdam commune, Ia Pa district), a veteran cadre of the village, is also one of the special candidates of this year's exam. Mr. Ri and many teachers in the districts of Southeast Gia Lai proactively rented accommodation in Pleiku city early to facilitate their review and travel to the exam site.

“I want to take the exam to challenge myself and get a high school diploma to wait for the recruitment of commune or village officials. After taking the literature subject, I don’t expect a high score because the knowledge is difficult,” said Ri.

On the morning of June 26, in Gia Lai, 15,984 candidates took the literature exam, with 62 candidates absent. All officials, teachers, and staff working on the exam were present. The exam sites proceeded normally, with no violations of exam regulations recorded by either the exam staff or the candidates.
