Among the line of parents waiting outside the Trung Vuong Secondary School exam site (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi ), the image of Ms. Vuong Thi Lan - mother of candidate Chu Minh Quang, moved many people with her unexpected dedication and thoughtfulness.
Not only does Ms. Lan take care of every little thing for her son, she also brings a special "supply kit" including: three calculators, pens, rulers, erasers, pencils and a spare set of clothes. These items are not only for her son, but are also ready to help any student who unfortunately forgets something or arrives late and doesn't have time to change clothes.

“Last night I was tossing and turning, thinking about what if any of my students forgot something or had an accident. So this morning I prepared three calculators, pens, rulers, and clothes – all from the kindness of the parents. I just hope that no student will miss the most important exam of their life because of a small item,” Lan shared.
Not stopping there, she also worked with the parents' committee of Tran Phu High School to make a list of candidates taking the exam at Trung Vuong Secondary School, and was on duty every morning to check the list, take attendance, and promptly contact anyone who was absent, ensuring that no student was left behind.
“If there are any students who have not arrived yet, we will call them immediately. If necessary, we will find a way to pick them up on time for the exam,” she said. Under the scorching summer sun, among hundreds of parents waiting for their children, Ms. Lan’s dedication and sharing spread a spirit of kindness, making many people choke up.

After finishing the Literature exam this morning, most candidates rated the exam as good, the questions closely followed the program content and the sample questions of the Ministry of Education and Training . Many candidates were confident that they would get 8 points or more on the exam.
Also in this morning's exam, the Ministry of Education and Training reported that more than 1.15 million candidates took the exam, nearly 10,500 were absent. Examination councils across the country suspended 10 candidates, of whom 8 were found to have used cell phones, and 2 were found to have used documents.
This afternoon, candidates will take the Math exam for 90 minutes. Tomorrow, candidates following the new general education program (2018) will take two elective subjects in the following subjects: Foreign Language, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology (Agriculture, Industry).
Candidates taking the old program (2006) will take a combination of Natural Sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Biology) or Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civic Education).
