The delegation included leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Construction; Finance; Agriculture and Environment; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee Office and representatives of the People's Committees of Yen Binh, Thac Ba, Bao Ai, Cam Nhan and Yen Thanh communes.
The working group focused on surveying: the current status of products, accommodation facilities, tourism infrastructure, the implementation of projects and planning at Thac Ba Lake to serve tourism development and improve the effectiveness of managing tourism activities in the area.


Specifically, the working group inspected the activities of the Ruby eco-tourism site in Yen Binh commune; conducted a field survey in the Thac Ba lake area; surveyed and evaluated the Do Gia Homestay tourist accommodation facility in Yen Thanh commune and An Binh Village Resort in Yen Binh commune.


Happy house Do Gia, Yen Thanh commune is a lakeside homestay, benefiting from the fresh, peaceful natural landscape of Thac Ba lake. Currently, there are 2 communal stilt houses, 12 private rooms, and 1 family room, attracting over 7,000 visitors every year to visit and experience.
An Binh Village tourist destination has a variety of accommodation types with 2 stilt houses, 4 dormitories, 6 bungalows and 1 villa; annually welcomes nearly 5,000 visitors; has a restaurant with a capacity of 200 guests with local dishes; has health care services (Cao Lan herbal bath steam room, yoga classes, meditation).
After conducting a field survey, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Sinh worked with departments, branches, and local People's Committees to grasp the situation of tourism development at Thac Ba Lake.



According to information from departments and branches, in recent times, the province has actively encouraged and called for investors in the tourism service sector. Up to now, the Provincial People's Committee has granted investment policies for 4 major projects with a total capital of tens of thousands of billions of VND. These projects are being accelerated in order to soon form and put into operation a number of typical and outstanding tourism products of the province.
Accommodation and service infrastructure of Thac Ba Lake Tourist Area is diverse with 57 accommodation establishments (including hotels, motels and homestays) to meet the needs of tourists. In particular, the development of homestays demonstrates the effective exploitation of community tourism and local identity.
Along with that, Thac Ba Lake Tourist Area has been forming a system of diverse, unique, attractive tourism products and gradually improving quality, including: cultural tourism, festivals and national identity; agricultural tourism and ecological experiences; community and craft village tourism; resort tourism and entertainment.
In 2024, Thac Ba Lake National Tourist Area welcomed and served 356,000 visitors, including 51,000 international visitors; total tourism revenue is estimated at over 324 billion VND.
Along with assessing the current status of implementing the planning of Thac Ba National Tourist Area, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and other departments and branches also analyzed the remaining problems in developing infrastructure, products and tourism services; legal, land, financial and policy barriers as well as shortcomings in state management and community participation...

At the same time, departments, branches and localities also proposed, recommended and advised specific, feasible and sustainable solutions to thoroughly solve problems, such as: detailed planning of subdivisions in the tourist area, infrastructure investment, product development, improving service quality, perfecting policy mechanisms, strengthening state management and promotion... towards the goal of turning Thac Ba Lake into an international-class tourism, resort and cultural center by 2040.
Through surveying, grasping the actual situation and working with departments, branches and localities on the development of Thac Ba Lake National Tourist Area, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Sinh acknowledged the recommendations and proposals of departments, branches and localities, and assigned the Provincial People's Committee Office to coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to synthesize the results, difficulties, problems, and propose solutions for the development of Thac Ba Lake Tourist Area so that the provincial leaders can provide timely and specific instructions.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches and localities to review legal issues, have solutions to strictly manage tourist attractions to ensure safety for tourists; advise and propose early development of zoning plans; attract investors. At the same time, assign the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to advise on the general tourism development orientation of Thac Ba Lake Tourist Area, develop tourism management regulations, policies and mechanisms for tourism development, organize the assessment of facilities to recognize accommodation establishments and tourist attractions; orient the development of tourism products, etc.
In addition, departments, branches and localities coordinate to well manage land use planning, water surface, aquatic resources and promote, aiming to turn Thac Ba Lake into an international-class tourism, resort and cultural center by 2040.
Thac Ba Lake is one of the three largest artificial lakes in Vietnam with more than 1,300 large and small islands and a majestic limestone cave system. The Thac Ba Lake area has outstanding potential to develop diverse types of tourism such as: eco-tourism, resort (majestic lake landscape, fresh air, diverse ecosystem); cultural and historical tourism (Thac Ba Hydropower Plant); sports and experience tourism (activities on the water such as boating, fishing, swimming) ...
Thac Ba Lake has been approved by the Prime Minister in the Master Plan for the Development of Thac Ba Lake National Tourist Area to 2025, with a vision to 2030, and the Master Plan for the Construction of Thac Ba Lake National Tourist Area to 2040. Accordingly, Thac Ba Lake is identified as a key National Tourist Area of the Northern midland and mountainous region, with typical tourism products associated with national cultural values and the lake ecosystem; by 2040, it will become an international-class tourism, resort, and cultural center.
